Wiona parked the car and took a moment to steady herself, fingers trembling just slightly as she pulled the invitation from her clutch. She glanced at Conrad, her eyes a little wide.

Conrad reached over and covered her hand with his. He leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. “How could it be?”

“It’s your first time meeting your grandparents. Of course you’re nervous. Anyone would be.”
