Divorced and Pregnant My New Life with a Billionaire Drives My Ex Crazy novel Chapter 503

And then there were the flowers. Every day since she’d moved in, she’d found a fresh bouquet at her door, always signed with the last name Ferguson. Was it really from Wilson?

If it was, why would he send her flowers every day? What was he after? What kind of secret did he have, one so big that both her mentors would go out of their way to cover for him, even if it meant putting themselves at risk?

Cassian still didn’t answer. He just sat there, sipping water. One cup. Another. Then a third. By the fifth, he was still silent, unable to get the words out.

That’s when Nikolai came rushing in. “Ma’am, Dr. White needs to see you.”

Dr. White? Wiona remembered—the head of the clinic had that name. But hadn’t he just left? She raised an eyebrow and glanced at Nikolai, silently asking for more. His face gave nothing away. With no better option, Wiona stood up, steadying herself with the arm of the chair.

She looked at Cassian, her voice sincere. “I don’t want to walk through life clueless.”

“Even if the truth is ugly, I’d still rather know. I don’t want to be kept in the dark in the name of protection, especially if that means I’m actually being hurt.”

“And especially not when it comes to someone who’s hurt you.”

“I hope you’ll really consider it and tell me everything you know.”

“I’ll be back in a minute.”

She nodded to Owen and Summer and followed Nikolai out.

Owen looked over at Cassian, closing his notebook as he stood. “Mr. Kutz, you really should tell her the truth.”

“If you don’t, the real criminals never get punished. Otherwise, you’re just letting them keep hurting people.”

With that, Owen stepped off to have a cigarette, leaving Cassian and Summer alone.

Summer tried to convince him too. “Dad, just tell Wiona what you’re worried about, and what your intentions were. She’ll get it.”

“You always said what Bronwen did to her back then was horrible.”

“And now, we’re both doing the same thing to her.”

“Is hiding the truth really the best thing for her?”

“She deserves to know everything. What Bronwen did already left her scarred…”

“If we do this again, how will she handle it?”

“She’s an adult now. She doesn’t want to be sheltered like this.”

“Please, Dad. Think it over, okay?”

Cassian let out a long sigh, then another. “I know, I get it.”

“I just… I don’t know…”

He paused, looking tired. “Fine. When she gets back, I’ll tell her everything.”

“But sometimes, the truth hurts just as much as the lie.”

Meanwhile, Nikolai led Wiona down the hall to Dr. White’s office. When the door opened, no one was inside.
