Cold Husband Burning Regret: The Divorce He Couldn't Handle novel Chapter 702

Soon after, the butler went out to meet Jonathan, standing respectfully by the car window to report. "Young Master Pembroke, my young lady isn't feeling well. She took some medicine and just fell asleep, so it's not convenient for her to see you. Would you be willing to wait in the living room for a moment?"

Jonathan's expression was gloomy. He didn't even grant the butler a single glance. His tone was sarcastic. "What convenient timing. With such a big incident happening, she just happens to be feeling unwell?"

The butler didn't dare respond, only saying politely with a smile, "I really wouldn't know about that."

Jonathan sneered coldly, turning his head to look at the butler, his voice sinister. "The engagement banquet is in a few days. Will she be able to attend?"

"There will be no issue with that." The butler answered very crisply.

Jonathan rolled up his window and tossed out a line. "Better not cause any delays."

Once the window was up, isolating him from the outside, the smile vanished from his face, replaced by a cold, dead silence.

The driver glanced at the rearview mirror and asked cautiously, "Young Master Pembroke, what about Miss Easter's matter..."

"That wretch Genevieve dared to touch someone of mine. I'll settle all scores, old and new, with the Howards on the day of the engagement banquet." Jonathan closed his eyes, nearly grinding his molars. He had kept Easter for a purpose.

Or perhaps, out of personal desire.

Easter's death didn't make him sad, but it did make him regretful.

It was like he had finally found a 'pet' that suited his needs and that he happened to be quite fond of, but before he could claim her as his own, someone killed her.

So when he learned that Genevieve had gone to see her before her death, his first reaction was to confront Genevieve.

Jonathan suppressed the fury in his chest and added in a deep voice, "As for Easter, give her father a sum of money. Make sure the funeral arrangements are respectable."
