Cold Husband Burning Regret: The Divorce He Couldn't Handle novel Chapter 482

For some reason, however, Hulda, Kate, and Quincy had recently formed an alliance.

Kate was in the middle of a divorce and had returned to the Rayburn estate with her children. She and Hulda were now thick as thieves, and they had set their sights on Sean's company and the Donovan family's assets.

The Donovan family was not as powerful as it once was, and Sean was stretched thin trying to manage both his company and their affairs. With Caleb and Susy's loyalties still unclear, he was fighting a battle on multiple fronts.

Charlotte hadn't realized how complicated the situation was. It sounded like a massive headache.

Seeing her worried expression, Wesley quickly reassured her, "Don't worry, I'll handle it."

"You make it sound so easy," Sean snorted. "Your aunts and uncles are all sharks. I heard your Aunt Kate has even arranged a marriage for you, and the old man has approved it. Let's see how you handle that."

Charlotte looked at Wesley.

Wesley frowned but kept his composure. "My marriage is my own business. They don't get a say in it."

Sean stayed in Riverspire City, and Wesley returned to Eldermere City after a couple of days. It was the first time Charlotte had spent one-on-one time with her father. He filled the days with stories of Wesley's childhood and his own courtship with her mother, and the bond between them grew stronger.

Winter in Riverspire City wasn't as harsh as in the capital, but a light snow still fell, melting as soon as it touched the ground.

Charlotte made several trips to the police station to ask about Norene and Vera, but there was still no news.

One afternoon, as she was leaving the station, she saw Officer Woods talking to a man in the parking lot. The man had his back to her. After a brief conversation, he got into his car.

For a split second, as he turned, she saw his profile. A handsome, achingly familiar face.

Charlotte quickened her pace, but the car was already pulling away.
