Claimed By The Lycan King (Kaia) novel Chapter 63

Chapter 63

Kaia's POV

Kieran has been spending more time in the dungeon and each time he gets back, he always has a frustrated look on his face. He had mentioned that they'd finally caught one of the rogues that was making the pack stand on edge but he wasn't admitting to working with anyone. I didn't know who he was, but I had one or two things to tell him about frustrating my man.

Lylah still wasn't back and it was starting to make me doubt if she was ever going to come back. I didn't mention it to Kieran because he already had a lot of things he was dealing with.

“Come on," Dani whined, “we need to do something fun, other than our normal routine." She grumbled, tugging my arms gently.

The three of us just finished helping out at the hospital and we were tired since we spent most of the time on our feet and all I was thinking about was Kieran massaging them.

“I agree,” Allie agreed, "I cannot remember the last time we did anything fun. I'm losing my youthful age here.”

I shook my head, "I don't know guys, the last time we had fun, I ended up with a bodyguard.” I said, and that's the last thing I want."

Dani let out a chuckle, “yea that, what happened to him?” She asked.

"Long story short, a lot of begging was involved.” I told them, a light blush covered my cheeks.

"None of that, I want to hear all of it.”

"Yea, you have this smile on your face that says there's a story I want to hear. So spill it." Allie agreed, wiggling her eyebrow.

A groan escaped my lips, “urghh…Allie, you of all people shouldn't be interested in hearing about your brother's sex…” my eyes widened when I realized I'd said too much already.

"Ooh…" Dani cooed, “I'm sure he would've done anything you wanted. Those types are the best." She said.

I paused, "I thought you said punishment sex was the best.” My voice was barely audible, but with the number of heads that turned to us and those fighting not to make eye contact, I'd say I was loud enough.

She thought about it, “those ones too, it's hard to choose."

Allie laughed, “I’m certain the Alpha would commend your effort on a job well done.”

"I see it happening soon if she blows him." Dani replied.

My brows furrowed in confusion, “why would I blow him? It's not like he did anything wrong."

The moment that left my mouth, they paused and looked at each before bursting into laughter, holding their belly like I told them the funniest joke.

“Did I say something funny, Lylah?" I asked, before realizing she wasn't there. A habit I found hard to stop. I didn't have time to dwell on it when Dani landed on my shoulders.

“This isn't a conversation for right now,” she said, tears pricked at the corner of her eyes from laughing too hard.

"I agree. But first thing when we meet in the morning and we're still full of energy, we'll deal with it.”

They laughed once more before waving me goodbye. I watched their retreating figure, wondering what they were referring to. And since there was nothing I could then wait for them to explain, I made my way to Kieran's office.

“Or I can just ask him." I thought. "I'll just wait for them.” I decided.

But that didn't stop me from thinking about it. I really hated not having Lylah. I became so dependent on her to tell me all these and it was boring without her.

Kieran wasn't at his desk when I entered the office. Instead, Ryder sat there, lost in thoughts that he didn't hear me come in, until I called out to him.

Ever since Allie told us about the break-up…if I can call it that, I've noticed that most of the time, he looked like he had the entire world on his shoulders. And I was curious about what could've happened. But now, something else was a priority.

“Alpha, I'll let you…”

"Sit.” He ordered, and Ryder remained in his seat. He still wouldn't make eye contact. Even Kieran noticed it.

“What were you talking about before I came in?"

“Oh, I…" I started, just as Caleb came in with the girls behind him and I heard Ryder let out a relieved sigh.

“We'll talk about it later." I assured him.

I didn't hide my confusion as to why we were gathering again, and Kieran didn't miss that as usual as he helped me to the couch.

"Caleb and Ryder already know why we're here…” Kieran started, even without making an effort, his voice commanded the attention of everyone in the room.

He went ahead to repeat the fact that my wolf was a rare one, mentioning the abilities I was supposed to possess and the girls' heads snapped to mine since I'd conveniently forgotten to mention it when I told them I couldn't sense her.

“And that would remain a secret between us." He said, waiting for his words to sink in.

“The pack doctor will be here soon, and he'll tell us what to do so Lylah can come back…we need to know more about her wolf. She's the reason I'm here.”

“Yes, Alpha."

He also spoke about walking in pairs and to report anything that seems out of the normal. He was going to be repeating this part of it to the entire pack members later that night. When he mentioned imposing a curfew, the girls frowned but he just ignored them.

Once we were done, Ryder and Caleb went to make sure that the pack members were aware of the meeting. As they went, I saw Ryder's eyes following Allie, who was to catch it.

I made a mental note to ask Ryder about his question the next day. But now, I really needed that massage.
