Chained To The Billionaire Mafia novel Chapter 12

As soon as I arrived at Kendra’s penthouse, I packed my things quickly and dialed Trinity’s number.

“Trinity.”

“What happened earlier, Jada? You lost your connection didn’t you?” she asked.

“Someone showed up sorry about that. By the way, do you have any news about Kendra?” I asked back.

“Did the kidnappers call you already?” I added.

“No, and it’s quite bothering me that they’re not calling. If they want money, it’s not a problem but it seems like they want you, Jada.”

I closed my eyes to control the rage that started to build inside me again.

“It’s that Coleman isn’t it?” I asked full of conviction.

“I don’t think so, Jada.”

My forehead creased.

“What do you mean? He’s the only person who wants me back in the country Trinity.”

“According to Caleb, it wasn’t Achilles.”

“Don’t tell me you buy that? He’s his cousin, Trinity, of course, he’ll side him.”I shot back in disgust.

“Kendra is Caleb’s girlfriend Jada, I don’t think he’ll lie.”

“Besides I witnessed how nervous he was, it was visible that he’s worried about her. He also asked for Achilles’ help Jada, though the latter was in the U.S, he was still able to send some men to help us look for Kendra.”

“Wait he’s in the U.S now Jada, I know it’s a big country for your paths to cross, but it’s not impossible right?”

“He found me earlier during my shift in the coffee shop Trinity.” I lifelessly replied.

“What? So what happened? What did he tell you?” she continously asked.

“Can we please stop talking about him, Trinity? Kendra’s life is at risk here!” I burst out.

“Oh, sorry about that. But don’t forget that he’s the reason why you’re there Jada.”

“That’s the least of my concern now Trinity, let’s talk when I got home.”

“You mean you’ll go home…”

I didn’t let her finish her words and ended the call. I may be rude but I have to take a rest, for now, she is used to it anyway, especially when I am upset.

Things got worst when Trinity said that Achilles’ doesn’t have to do about why Kendra was missing. Confusion reigns in my system, who the hell on earth has a huge grudge on me except for that Coleman? Was it Russo? No, he’s dead already.

Or maybe, Caleb and Achilles were fooling Trinity by putting an act around her so she would believe them. But I’m not Trinity, I can see every situation from different angles and perspectives, no exemption here. All I could say is, whoever takes Kendra will pay.

“Jada, that’s all your things?” Martini asked when I arrived at the airport.

I shortly glanced at my one luggage. I didn’t bother to bring many clothes when I left the Philippines since Kendra told me she has a lot in her penthouse.

“Problem with that?” I snarled back and walk to the vacant seat while waiting for the schedule of our flight.

“Seems like something happened in the Philippines which change your mind on staying here.” Martini breaks the silence between us as long as the plane got off.

“It’s none of your business Martini.” I plainly replied and glance outside of the glass window.

“I’m kinda curious, was it about Kendra?” He asked. This time I shift my gaze on him and stare at him sharply.

“Will you be like that the whole flight Martini?” I asked, making sure that he’ll get what I wanted to say. For Pete's sake, he’s too noisy for a guy. He was probably an old maiden in his past life.

“Fine, I’ll shut up now.” He smiled awkwardly and motioned zipping his mouth while I far-fetchingly look at him before rolling my eyes. I decided to take a nap so he won’t bother talking the whole flight.

When we arrived in the country, the familiar air of Manila scented making me frown.

My attention was caught by a black Lamborghini Huracan that stopped in front of me. Without saying a word I entered the car when Trinity’s driver step out of it.

“Take care, Jada!” I heard Martini exclaim, and I just waved my hand lazily at him before speeding up the engine.

“Where are you, Trinity?” I called her.

“I’m at Dad’s company Jada, just go straight here. I’ll convince him to help us in finding Kendra.”

I didn’t bother to reply and focus on the road instead.

When I arrived at Uncle Triton’s company, Trinity was on her way out.

“Jada!” Her eyes were widened as she run towards me.

“I missed you!” She added while hugging me tightly.

“Stop it, Trinity, people were watching us!”

“So what’s an update?” I asked pertaining to Kendra.

“Right, let’s eat first and talk there Jada.”

I shrugged and followed her. Why do I feel like something was about to happen, and I don’t feel any good about it? I just hope my guts were wrong.

After we arrived, we quickly ordered food and settled on a private room for Trinity and me to talk.

“So who was it, Trinity?” I started the conversation.

“We’re still waiting for the investigation, Jada.” She replied and started eating.

“We couldn’t just wait here Trinity, the longer it takes that Kendra was missing, the higher the chance her life was in danger Trinity. Especially that they’re not against the money, they want me.”

“So what are your plans?” She asked.

“I’ll find them and do what they want.”

“Oh c’mon Jada, don’t put your life at risk. We need help from other people. Besides I already talked to dad, he'll help us.”

“We cannot do this alone!” Trinity added.

“No, I can deal with this alone Trinity.”

“For now, let’s wait for their call. That’s the least we can do!”Trinity exclaimed. She barely shouts, she has always been the calmest among us.

“Stop being hard-headed Jada!”

I stand up and fix my things.

“Good girl,” I uttered before going out of her office and going straight to Dad’s.

“Jada?” Macy and Paris were lazily lying in the office’s living room. Is that what they call training?

“Missed me?” I asked sarcastically.

“In your dreams,” Macy replied.

“Don’t worry I missed you guys, probably about 0.1%.No one's bullying me in the U.S, it's quite boring.” I shot back and smiled sweetly before entering dad’s working station.

“What are you doing here Jada?” He doesn’t look surprised, more pissed I guess.

“Woah, I love your greetings Dad.” I mocked him.

“Stop playing Jada, I’m working.” He shot back and settled himself on his swivel chair as he face his computer monitor again.

“I need your help, Dad.”

“I won’t help you.” He quickly replied without even glancing at me.

“You’re not supposed to be here anyway, Jada. I warned you to fix your mess first before showing up in front of me.”

“Coleman is not the issue here dad, my friend is missing! Used your connection to find her!” I spilled.

“Your friend is not my business anymore Jada, look I have a lot of my things on my plates now. So please go, and stop wasting my time.”

I move closer to him unbelievably.

“Dad are you f*cking hearing yourself?!” I growled, but in just a snap I was now lying on the floor, as he immediately give me a hard slap, making me lose my balance.

I failed to notice that Macy and Paris were on the corner watching us, with their smirking faces flashing.

I rolled my eyes at them and put back my gaze at dad.

“Watch your words, Jada.”He warned as he piercingly glare at me.

“Yeah right who am I to ask for your help anyway? When you couldn’t even help your child fix her problem right?”

“I should’ve gone here,” I added before turning my back at him.

“Jada.” I froze when he called my name.

“From now on you’re not allowed to step inside this building!” He menacingly ordered.

My forehead automatically creased and face him.

“I have the rights to do...” Before I could finish my sentence, he stands up and get something inside his drawer.

When he finally found it, he put that thing on his table for me to see. It was a picture of a baby, inside of a basket.

“We should’ve told this to you when you’re a kid, but we don’t want you to feel not belong.”

I wanted to laugh at his last words, feel not belong? I doubt it. And it feels like I am having a thought on what his next words are, along with the heavy pain slowly building up inside my chest. I don’t think I am ready for this.

And before I could heave a deep breath to brace myself, he speaks.

“You’re not a Turner, Jada.”
