Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 376

Dominic finally closed the folder, and only then did Cynthia dare to speak.

“What do you think, Mr. Holloway?”

Dominic said simply, “Looks good.”

Cynthia let out a quiet sigh of relief. “I’ll have Assistant Frank keep looking into it.”

Dominic just murmured his assent.

Sensing he was preoccupied and in no mood for conversation, Cynthia kept her tone professional. “Do you know when the audit team will be arriving at VistaSphere Group? I want to make sure we’re prepared.”

Dominic answered in his usual, even tone. “I’ll notify them after I return to the Capital tomorrow. They’ll come with me to Cloudcrest City.”

Cynthia nodded. “Understood.”

Dominic just offered a slight nod, falling silent again, his eyes shadowed, lost in thought.

Realizing she’d gotten all the answers she was going to get, Cynthia spoke quietly. “I’ll head back to VistaSphere Group, then.”

Dominic nodded.

Cynthia stepped toward the door, but paused. She turned back to look at him—he was still at his desk, watching her. As she hesitated, his grip on the folder tightened, creasing the papers.

“Is there something else?” he asked.

Cynthia pressed her lips together, weighing her words, but finally spoke. “Is there something about me you’re still unsure of, Mr. Holloway?”

She knew she’d be working closely with him in the future—whether at VistaSphere, Holloway Enterprises, or even if she went back to Tremaine Holdings. Whatever happened, she couldn’t afford any unspoken tension between them. If one partner started doubting the other from the outset, their collaboration would never work; the cracks would only widen.

Dominic looked at her, his expression unreadable. “No,” he said coolly.
