Called Off the Wedding, Left Him Bankrupt novel Chapter 377

Cynthia left Dominic’s office and headed straight for the elevators.

The receptionist noticed her standing silently by the elevator doors for quite some time. After a moment, she walked over, realizing Cynthia hadn’t pressed the down button.

“Miss Tremaine, would you like me to call the elevator for you?” she asked softly.

Cynthia blinked back to the present and offered an apologetic smile. “Thank you.”

“It’s my pleasure,” the receptionist replied respectfully.

When the elevator doors slid open, Cynthia let out a quiet breath to steady herself and stepped inside.

Just as the doors closed, her phone rang. Cynthia glanced at the screen—a number she didn’t recognize. Her gaze cooled, a hint of indifference settling in her eyes. She slid her pale finger across the screen and raised the phone to her ear.

Giselle’s voice came through the receiver almost immediately. “Miss Tremaine?”

Cynthia’s tone was flat, betraying no surprise. “What is it?”

Giselle, thrown off by Cynthia’s unruffled response, fell silent. Unfazed, Cynthia hung up without a second thought.

The elevator chimed and opened on the ground floor. Cynthia strode out, her phone buzzing again with the same unfamiliar number.

She answered, holding the phone to her ear without a word.

This time, Giselle didn’t hesitate. “Miss Tremaine, I want to work with you.”

Cynthia let out a short, amused laugh. “You? Work with me? On what, exactly?”
