He had laid out the entire plan over a decade ago. Every detail, every move, was meticulously calculated and schemed.
It was a precise plan, like an invisible net, and he had been certain Sebastian couldn't escape his grasp. But he had known everything?
"Bring Maxwell back. If we can't fight Sebastian in the shadows, then we'll fight him out in the open. While we still have a chance, we can use Sebastian to secure a lot of deals."
This was the reason she had come to Timothy. Once Maxwell succeeded, she would kill Timothy to satisfy her rage.
Timothy's voice was cold. "He'll be back in a few days. If that's the case, there's no need to hide anymore. You can go back for now."
"I'll let you know when I have a new plan."
Joanna didn't say a word and turned to leave. Just looking at Timothy made her sick. How could that two-faced monster do something so beastly to her?
She had always respected Timothy, but the old bastard didn't deserve an ounce of it.
Joanna rushed home, but on the way, she got a call from her mother.
A bad feeling washed over Joanna again. "Hello? Mom."
Sophia's voice was frantic. "Joanna, you have to get to the hospital! Your father has lost his mind. He wants to run a paternity test on Alexander."
Joanna’s heart sank into her stomach. She asked angrily, "Mom, tell me the truth. Whose son is my brother, really?"
"Joanna, of course he's your father's son! Just hurry up and get over here. You can't let your father do this paternity test! Come quick and help me talk him out of it. If he goes through with this, I'll never forgive him."
Joanna laughed, a bitter, angry sound. She was driving, and silent tears streamed down her face.
Her eyes were raw and gritty, her lashes matted with dried salt from the hours of weeping.
She soon received the address and had no choice but to drive over.
She couldn't let them make a huge scene. What about her reputation?
The hospital wasn't far. With the holidays just a few days away, a festive hush had fallen over the city, and the streets were surprisingly clear. Joanna arrived quickly.
She parked her car and went to find Sophia.
Coincidentally, it was a hospital that Joanna owned.
But Joanna didn't know that.
Wendy was feeling unwell today, and Colin had accompanied her to see a doctor. Colin saw Joanna first. He said quickly, "Mom, isn't that Joanna? What's she doing at the hospital?"
