Wendy looked at Joanna's back and sneered. "Come on, let's follow her. We might get to see some unexpected drama."
If her timing was right, Nathan would have already secured the sample from his son overseas.
But the boy was already back in the country. She had tracked his movements.
Colin looked at his mother's pale face with concern. "Mom, you're still running a fever. Maybe you should see the doctor first. Taking care of yourself is the most important thing."
Wendy shook her head. "No, let's go see what's happening first. Joanna has an older brother who was overseas. I heard some news that he's back, and he might not be Nathan's son. The fact that Joanna is rushing to the hospital probably means Nathan got the sample. This hospital has a good reputation and is qualified to do paternity tests."
Colin was stunned, then his face contorted in anger. "Mom, how did we get involved with such awful people?"
Wendy gave a bitter smile and patted his hand. He had matured a lot. "It's because I was blind and foolish, and I made you all suffer with me."
Colin was filled with guilt. It was he and his brothers who had been blind and foolish, unable to see through Nathan and Joanna's deception. They themselves had been just as hypocritical.
"Mom, it's not your fault. It's because we were worthless that we let you..."
Colin couldn't continue. He deeply regretted how they had treated Natalie.
He knew Natalie wouldn't forgive them.
But he still hoped that she would find happiness in the future.
"Let's go, Mom. I'll go with you."
"Okay."
The paternity testing center was in a building behind the main hospital.
Joanna quickly cut her mother off. They absolutely could not get a divorce right now; it would affect her career.
"Joanna, you're here! Quick, talk to your father. He doesn't believe your brother is his son. Alexander is already back, and doing this will only break his heart."
"Before I have to tell Alexander, before he finds out his father came here for a paternity test, you need to convince him to stop. Don't make his last remaining son hate him."
Nathan looked at Joanna, his voice suddenly calm. "Joanna, this is between your mother and me. Stay out of it. I submitted the samples almost two hours ago. The results will be out soon."
Hearing this, Sophia flinched.
"What? Nathan, how could you be so shameless?" Sophia was furious.
Standing a short distance away, Wendy sneered. She looked at Colin. "Colin, call his parents. Let them see what kind of person their precious grandson, the one they've been secretly spoiling all these years, really is."
