Her love for Sebastian had always been unrequited.
Now, that connection was in tatters, and she had no desire to pursue it any further.
Her life was good now. Her run-ins with Joanna provided a welcome jolt of adrenaline to her quiet, predictable life.
She had time to meet friends, to eat out. This was what a normal life felt like.
The Matriarch watched her, saying nothing, and sighed inwardly.
She knew Natalie was dead set on the divorce.

Joanna found Timothy as quickly as she could.
He was in his villa, having breakfast.
He was holding a beautiful young woman on his lap, who was sharing the meal with him.
Everyone in the city knew about Timothy's affairs.
Joanna couldn't believe that she, too, had once been violated by this man while drunk. Seeing him now, all she wanted was to kill him.
But she held back. She would get her revenge in her own time.
"Timothy," she said, her voice icy as she approached.
She had been crying the whole way there, and tears still streamed down her face as she glared at him.
Timothy patted the young beauty beside him and smiled. "Sweetheart, go eat upstairs. I'll be up in a bit."
The woman shot Joanna a look before slowly making her way upstairs.
Timothy looked at Joanna. "What are you doing here, crying first thing in the morning? And you’re calling me by my first name now? Joanna, you’ve forgotten your place."
"Sebastian, I really underestimated you." A murderous look filled his eyes. With a roar of fury, he sent his dinner flying, the plate shattering against the floor in a spray of porcelain and steak.
The exquisite plate shattered into pieces with a crash.
"I knew he wasn't that easy to fool. I just never thought he already knew."
Timothy stood up, his towering frame radiating pure rage.
If Sebastian had known all along, then what about his overseas businesses?
"Damn it!" Timothy kicked a chair in fury. "So, all these years, my every move has been under his watch."
Joanna's eyes were filled with hatred. "That's right. Under his watch. He said that with just one word, your overseas empire will crumble. Everything is under his control."
"Aaargh!" Timothy was losing his mind. He spun around, his gaze dark as he pointed a finger at Joanna and cursed, "Joanna, you useless thing! I put all my hopes on you, hoping you would seduce him, marry him, and kill him so that my son could inherit the Griffith family fortune. And now you're telling me it was all for nothing?"
