He couldn’t understand, and his confusion only became more visible by the way his brows squeezed, drawing together. "You —"
When Arwen saw him like that, she wanted to laugh, but holding back her reaction, she nodded at him, "Mhm-hm~ You now need to gear up. You won’t have much time. A few months to get into a new role. So —"
Before she could finish her words, Aiden stepped a step closer and held her arm, asking her with quiet seriousness. "Moon, don’t play with words. Tell me what you meant by that. Clear and transparent." His gaze held a depth that only made her heart go softer.
She smiled. Then, staring into his eyes, she placed her hand against his chest, only to feel the erratic heartbeats that only evidenced the anxiousness that she could see growing in his eyes. "You aren’t guessing it wrong, Ide," she whispered softly in a way that struck a string of his heart. "You are going to become a father in the span of another eight months"
Aiden’s expression didn’t ease. He stared at her. "We —"
She hummed again, confirming him. "We are going to become parents. You —" Before she could finish, a sharp gasp left her lips. Her arms instinctively went to hold his shoulders, wrapping around his neck. "Aiden, what are you doing?"
"Shh, Moon," he shushed her, his eyes for once darkening, making her press her lips tightly. "Don’t you dare utter another word now. Or else I might lose all my patience I have had for you." His jaws were tight, and Arwen didn’t know what exactly made him so angry. She thought he would be happy with the news.
Could it be that he was never prepared for it? 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
The thought made her hesitate in her heart. She wanted to ask him, but when she saw how angry he looked in that moment, she couldn’t.
"What were you thinking when you asked me to bring you to such a place?" He hissed.
Arwen opened her mouth to speak; however, before she could say anything, Aiden had already averted his gaze from her to carry her to the car.

Meanwhile, back at Foster Venture —
When Daniel knocked at the door of Ryan’s office, there came no response. Not even after waiting for several minutes. His brows tugged in a frown, and he didn’t wait to push the door open.
However, the moment he opened the door, he paused at the chaotic scene that lay inside. The floor looked like a mess with scattered shards of ceramic and glass around.
"Gosh!" he whispered in surprise before asking with seriousness. "What the hell went wrong here?" And soon after he asked, his eyes paused at Ryan, who stood near the ceiling-to-floor window with his back facing towards the door.
"Ryan?" he called out before stepping inside. But Ryan never turned his way. He stood there, unmoving and still.
Daniel’s frown only grew deeper. He had brought the bottle of fine whisky with him, which he kept at the table on the side before walking his way to his friend.
As he stepped closer, he could feel Ryan’s depressing energy. He didn’t know what had happened here, but knowing Ryan for all these years, he could surely tell that there was something that was simply affecting him in the worst possible way. After all, he hadn’t seen Ryan losing his calm like this in long years.
As Daniel closed the distance, he stopped right beside Ryan. Placing his hand firmly over his shoulder, he softly asked, "What’s there that you aren’t able to understand?"
Ryan heard him and turned to look his way. His eyes carried the anger —the kind of irritation that was simply unexplainable. Although his hands were tucked in his pockets, Daniel could see them clenched and curled into fists behind the fine fabric.
