"Now," Arwen turned on her heels to look at Aiden, her arms crossed on her front, "how are you going to explain to me everything, husband?"
Aiden was sitting on the couch. His expression was innocently nonchalant. "What do you need me to explain to you, Moon?"
Her brows arched up at his words, and she stepped a step closer to narrow her eyes at him. "Really? Are you really asking me that?"
He blinked before nodding.
"You —" she opened her mouth to lash out, but then closed it to take a deep breath. "Fine, if you want to be shameless," he pressed a forced smile on her lips, "I will help you."
Then, taking another quick breath, she continued, "I want you to explain everything that happened downstairs. When did you transfer half of the Cralen’s properties in my name?"
"That was my contribution to the bride’s exclusive property. It was all transferred on the day we signed our names together," he said as if he never tended to hide it from her. She just never recognized —which was partially true.
He never hid it from her. He just never said it out loud and specifically.
Arwen was once again blown away. Of course, she heard it back downstairs as well. It was all his wedding gift. But ... why does he have to make such a big deal out of it?
"The day we signed the certificate?" she repeated, pinching the space between her brows. This was not the first time she heard him say it. Even before he had repeated the exact same words, and she had never forgotten them. "But didn’t you say I signed the papers of Sky Luxe mall that day?"
She looked back at him and smiled with force. "Then how did I even end up signing these as well?"
Aiden did not hesitate at all. Staring into her eyes, he simply replied, "They were all arranged together. You didn’t have to sign them separately."
Her lips pursed, and she strode in his direction, stomping her feet. "Is that all how you are going to explain it? Just that much? Aiden, you —"
Before she could finish, her arm was grabbed, and she was tugged forward.
Losing her balance, she fell only to be embraced in his arms the next moment. Her hands pressed flat over his shoulders, instinctively.
"Aiden," she gasped, half in surprise and half in a tone of chide. "You —"
"Shhh ..." he shushed her. "I didn’t intend to pull you this way. I just wanted to make you sit ... next to me." His hands moved to settle over her waist before he slowly made her sit on the couch next to him.
Arwen looked at him and waited to see what he was up to.
He also paused for a few seconds, his gaze still on her. "When I married you, I kept it very much clear that what we would share wouldn’t be a part of the deal —a contractual arrangement, but real. And the real thing does hide away from such traditions."
Arwen’s heart skipped a beat. They have been real from the first day, it was just her who never believed it. It was only she who hesitated in accepting it.
