Chapter 167

Killian’s POV

My world collapsed the moment the spell struck Ruby. Leonidas’s voice tore through the sea of horrified screams, his arms cradling Ruby’s unconscious body. The wolf within me howled in fury.

RUBY!

I was about to run toward her only to be ambushed by a horde of shameless intruders. Enraged by their interference, my claws ripped through them mercilessly. My blood boiled when I saw the smirk of satisfaction on Robert’s face. He showed no sympathy for his men dying at my hands. He knew his goal had been achieved.

If he couldn’t hurt me directly, he’d target something else to make me suffer. My gaze shifted to the sorcerer behind that bastard, now cowering in Robert’s shadow.

There would be more corpses today.

Leonidas, take Her Majesty the Queen to safety.

At my command, a trembling Leonidas tried to lift the pregnant woman in his arms, staggering as he carried her away. My welltrained allies shielded him, fending off Robert’s men who tried to pursue.

Moments later, the grand hall was empty except for me, Robert, and his three remaining lackeys. My mind was filled with nothing but my mate. I had no desire other than to feel her pulse, to hear her heartbeat. I knew she was still alive, our bond told me so.

But I couldn’t stop the fear surging through me as I saw her lying there. Ruby would be furious if I selfishly prioritized her family over her people.

Some pests needed to be eradicated.

Wow. I wonder if that resolve was made from your heart, my dear nephew,Robert sauntered forward arrogantly, shaking his head, arms folded across his chest.

I already had a list of scenes proving you would prioritize your wife. Hm, I must’ve been wrong, huh? You’re still an emptyshelled king. How utterly disappointing,he said with false tenderness.

I clenched my teeth. The wolf within me raged, demanding release. Revenge for every vile act that creature committed against their Ruby. Not only that she endangered their children and ruined the joyful day they deserved.

I stood there unmoving, while Robert continued his speech. I could barely hear a word he was saying. The unease among my comrades was beginning to rise as I remained silent, making no move to retaliate. A small light inside me slowly dimmed. The darkness long buried within the coffin of my heart finally broke free, spreading through every vein.

Oh, how long it had been since I felt this way.

Your big mouth doesn’t know when to shut up, vermin.

My knuckles cracked. The shift in my aura caused those near me and Robert to instinctively back away.

Do you realize you’re offering every piece of your body to me now?

Vengeance and hatred swirled together into a harmonious symphony of death for that former member of the Rudwick family.

You will die here in more ways than one,I spat in furious rage..

Robert tilted his head, the smug smile fading from his face.

Oh, I know that. But I won’t regret anything. My goal has been achieved.

Chapter 167

That single confession was all it took to finally break the chains holding me hack. The grand hall instantly transformed into a battlefield. I paid atte attention to Robert. My focus remained fixed on the witch. She tried to escape, but I wasn’t foolish, I had the strongest forces from variert races al mi

command

The battle was as satisfying as always, even with Robert bleeding profusely. The witch thrashed in my soldier’s grip. Robert remained indifferent as he patched his wounds, as if it were merely a boxing match.

“Robert! Help me! Our deal was that you’d protect me until the end!she screamed

Hm, deals can be changed depending on the situation, darling.

Fucking bastard! You liar!

The witch’s fury was silenced as one of my men gagged her mouth. A flick of my fingers ordered them all to leave. Robert no longer cared he was

finished.

In a flash, my fingers were already wrapped around his throat.

You and your band of rebels are finished.

Robert let out a choking laugh. Well, I don’t care anymore. As I said before, the aftermath will be satisfying AAGH!

You were never grateful.Robert’s blood seeped through my hand. I gave you respect, honoring your status as part of the Rudwick line. I was still kind to you in ways that make me sick to remember. Contrary to the cruel reputation I proudly carry.

But you never stopped. You always felt lacking, and kept demanding what belonged to others.
