Inside, the women are amazed by the beautiful setup—sunlight streaming through large windows, delicious food and drinks, cozy robes and slippers, and a relaxed atmosphere. Elias reveals he arranged this getaway to give their husbands a break and to tease them for constantly mocking him for being single.

As soon as Elias leaves, the women embrace their freedom, dancing, swimming in the lake, and enjoying the day without any kids or husbands around. Later, Elias texts them the address of a prepaid restaurant, where they enjoy a luxurious meal by a private fire pit. Their conversation is interrupted when three men from the Eastern Ridge approach, trying to charm them with their supposed Alpha lineage, but the women quickly shut them down by confidently naming their powerful mates, causing the men to retreat in embarrassment.

After the men leave, the trio laughs and revels in their confidence and freedom. They enjoy the incredible food and the serene atmosphere, sharing a quiet moment of contentment. They each express a desire to bring their children to this peaceful place someday, appreciating the rare calm and beauty of the day. The chapter closes with them feeling connected and relaxed, imagining their families enjoying the same tranquility while they continue their getaway.

Chapter 408: Ladies’ Getaway

LUNA

45 fine Coins

A gentle breeze from the East caressed my skin as I adjusted my sunglasses. I glanced over at Arden and Teva, who were both already captivated by the sight of the massive, sleek lakehouse nestled on the hillside.

Elias stood on the porch, arms folded across his chest, wearing an expression that was equal parts pride and satisfaction.

“Wow,” Arden breathed out, eyes wide.

“Wow,” Tessa echoed softly, her voice filled with awe.

I let out a low whistle. “You’re seriously loaded.”

Elias scoffed, a smirk tugging at his lips. “Please. I’m single, yes, but that doesn’t automatically mean I’m rich. There’s a difference.”

We all laughed as he started descending the steps toward us.

“Nah,” he added, smoothing his shirt. “I just wanted a place to call my own. Somewhere peaceful. Somewhere I can scream into the void about how all of you keep getting married and popping out babies like rabbits.”

“That’s fair,” I teased. “There’s only so many baby showers you can attend before you lose it.”

Elias grinned widely. “Exactly. Anyway, come on inside. I’ve got everything ready.”

He said it casually, but when he opened the door and we stepped inside, I couldn’t help but gape.

Everything was perfect.

Sunlight poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the open living area and casting shimmering reflections on the lake outside. On the kitchen island, platters overflowed with fresh fruit, flaky pastries, an assortment of charcuterie, and a lineup of brightly colored drinks in tall glasses. Soft music played quietly from hidden speakers. Towels, robes, and matching slippers were neatly arranged for each of us. Candles flickered gently, blankets were folded nearby, and floaties rested by the dock, waiting.

“Oh my goddess,” Arden whispered, barely able to contain her excitement.

“Tessa,” I heard her say breathlessly, “did you hire someone to do all this?”

“Nope,” Elias replied with a casual shrug.

We squealed like a bunch of teenagers and immediately rushed over to inspect the food.

“Why are you being so ridiculously nice to us?” I asked, narrowing my eyes suspiciously as he handed me a drink.

“Because,” he said, leaning casually against the counter, “I want your husbands to feel a little stressed.”

“Wait, what?”

“They keep ganging up on me in the group chat,” he explained. “Making fun of me for being single.”

“So I told them, ‘Fine. Enjoy your children alone for a whole day while I take your wives somewhere beautiful and peaceful.’ And now,” he clapped his hands together with satisfaction, “they’re the ones suffering.”

With that, he tossed his keys to us and headed toward the door.

“I’ll leave you ladies to it. Have fun!”

As soon as he left, a collective sigh of relief swept through us.

Then—

“DRINKS!” Arden shouted, grabbing the closest glass.

“LAKE!” Tessa called out, throwing her bag onto the couch.

“NO KIDS!” I yelled into the open air.

Within seconds, the music surged through the speakers. We kicked off our shoes, grabbed our drinks, and bolted through the back doors toward the sparkling lake.

We danced like no one was watching, carefree and wild.

Then we plunged into the cool water, the refreshing chill sobering our senses and lifting our spirits even higher.

By late afternoon, despite having devoured almost everything in Elias’s kitchen, hunger gnawed at us again. When Elias texted the address of a “must-try East-side gem” and assured us it was prepaid, we didn’t hesitate.

We freshened up, slipped into new outfits, and made our way to the restaurant.

The place was stunning.

Elias had truly outdone himself.

A waiter led us to a private table, complete with cushioned seats and a small fire pit glowing softly at the center. As we settled in, a wave of calm washed over me.
