After packing up everything, Carolien went back to the room to change and get ready to go home.

Noticing that she didn't even look at him when he spoke, Elijah felt very depressed. "I was just asking casually, why is she making such a big deal out of it?"

As he watched her put all her cosmetics into her bag, zip it up, and get ready to leave at a moment's notice, he couldn't help but sigh. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms, and let out a rare slow breath.

"Why are you angry with me? I didn't mean anything else. I was wrong. I shouldn't have insulted your sincere gesture, okay?"

"Hmph!"

Carolien pouted. She was still a little upset.

He turned her around and gave her a tight hug. "Don't be angry. You can punish me. What do you want?"

Carolien lifted her eyelids and muttered, "Anything?"

Sure enough!

Everything boiled down to this.

With a nod, the expression in Elijah's eyes turned slightly cold. "I can do whatever you want." Money, cars, houses. As long as it wasn't too much, he would agree.

"Come and see me for three consecutive days for at least half an hour!"

"What?" He couldn't believe his ears. Elijah stared at her for three seconds. This wasn't the request he was expecting.

"You can't even do that? I just want you to go to Misty's and sit down!"

She was giving him an easy way out. What else could he ask for when she was already asking for something so simple? This was because her goal had never been materialistic. From start to finish, she never pined after anything from him.

All she wanted was to dance on stage. This was a good chance for him to come along and hype up the nightclub. As long as things went well, the other customers would realize this and business would become easier down the road.

She was just about to say if he couldn't make it, she was okay with Hudson coming instead. Just as she parted her lips, his adoring voice answered her.

"All right!"

Pinching her chin, Elijah lowered his head and coaxed, "I'll remember to visit you when I'm free! Don't be angry, hm?"

With his promise, Carolien felt more soothed. Feeling in a better mood, she smiled faintly. "Okay!"

She did not notice that she had begun to reveal her true emotions towards Elijah.

In the following three days, Elijah kept his promise. He went to Misty's every day, no matter what. Sometimes he was alone, and sometimes he brought his assistant with him. If he had nothing on, he would accompany her through the night. If he had work, he would not stay overnight. On the third day, Carolien came to the stage and danced with a few women. She wanted to trial run her dance. Thus, she put on heavy show makeup and covered most of her face. To her surprise, the crowd loved her. She received tons of flower bouquets that night.

Maaike ran backstage in excitement.

"Wow, look at all these flowers. Carolien, your dance was stunning. So many people were asking about you. They compared you to Misty's dance in her heydays at the Heaven Star Clubhouse. We're going to be famous! Do you think we will become the second Heaven Star Clubhouse?"

"By the way, a lot of people were asking who you were. I kept my answers vague and didn't really answer. Should I be straight with them?"

"Also, we have had an influx of customers recently. Our turnover rate is great. We've made a lot of money this month! The girls are so excited, and they've been working extra hard lately! Do you think we should plan an event while we have all the attention?"

While speaking, Maaike made a reaping gesture to indicate the profits they would be raking in.

As she spoke, Maaike's saliva flew everywhere. Carolien couldn't even get a single word in. She faced the mirror as she took the hairpins out of her hair. None of that was important. She was more concerned about the man waiting for her.

"Carolien, why aren't you saying anything?"

Turning around, Carolien took a look at the person beside her.

"You didn't give me a chance to speak! As for dancing, I'll just keep doing it for now. It's nice to know that it's doing well but if not, that's fine too. We'll still be able to save on hiring another dancer! If anyone asks, just say that I'm your boss. I can't wear this mask forever. Sooner or later, people will find out."

There was no need to hide it!

As they were talking, a hurried figure staggered in.

"Maaike, Miss Jones? Mr. Henwick is at it again. He's having a drunk fit in the private room on the second floor. He hit a waiter and was smashing things around. He keeps shouting for you to drink with him. He also drove the guest on the opposite side away. He says if you don't drink with him, you'll be disrespecting him and that he would get his friends over to come and teach us a lesson. Apparently, his brother-in-law is someone working on the force who's about to get promoted. We checked his claim out and it's true. He also insists that we're running a dirty business even when we're not. We tried to talk to him and get him to leave, but it's no use.
