Estelle's POV
When I found Ethan, he was talking to a mixed-race girl with perky breasts and a thin waist. But I couldn't care less about the romantic atmosphere or anything like that, the man made me feel instinctively dangerous. He was probably not one of our wolf pack. So I interrupted the conversation between them.
"Did you just see a man with a pale face? He had platinum blonde hair!" To drown out the music, I asked Ethan out loud.
"No, what happened?" Ethan looked at me, while the girl across from him was clearly upset that I had interrupted their conversation.
"I don't think that guy is right, he's dangerous!"
"Are you sure you're not the one who's looking at it wrong? The vetting of people here is very strict!" Ethan's voice interspersed with music came through.
"Who is she?" The girl interrupted us, and she shot me a disgusted look.
"My name is Estelle," I introduced my name to the girl out of courtesy.
"Can anyone come in now?" The girl surveyed my entire body from top to bottom as she used her hand to lift her long hair behind her ear.
"Yeah, well, just look at you." I shot back. The girl looked like she was about to splash me with the glass in her hand. That's when Ethan stepped in front of me. He said to the girls.
"Show some respect for my friend, I can have security kick you out at any time."
The girl glared at me and knocked the glass in her hand hard onto the table, then turned around and walked away.
Ethan looked at the girl's back and sneered, "Boring, I'll take you home."
"Are you allowed to drive if you've been drinking?" Ethan and I walked out of the nightclub together.
"You're underestimating my physique, I would have metabolized that little wine long ago."
Ethan opened the car door for me. After getting in the passenger side, I still felt a little guilty. I said to him.
"I'm sorry I messed up your date."
"You mean the woman from the nightclub? I didn't have my eye on her, I could have considered her if she wouldn't have talked."
"Ha, so why are you talking to people for so long?"
"Because I'm a gentleman, and it's not my style to reject someone's kindness outright."
"Come on, what about all the girlfriends you've dumped?"
"That's why I'm all about phone breakups. By the time they start cursing, or start crying, my phone is going to run out of battery."
"You're such an asshole."
"Same goes for a gentleman." I rolled my eyes at him with a huge glare.
He dropped me off at the door and told me as I was getting out of the car, "Never tell Alpha about the nightclub!"
I promised him, but with Lance's acumen and intelligence network, I doubt it would be long before Lance knew about it.
I walked into the house and hung my jacket on the coat rack by the door. nathan was lying on the couch, and as I approached him I realized that his clothes were torn and tattered and there was a lot of blood on him.
"You got into a fight?" I pulled the medical kit out of the cabinet.
"Hmm." Nathan grunted out of his nose.
I looked down at him with the same blue eyes I had, and his gaze was lax.
"Are you high again?!" I grabbed him by the collar.
"Get off me." Nathan tried to slap my hand away, but he was so unconscious that his hand just waved wildly in the air.
"I don't know, I'll try to ask him."
"He has to be made to quit this time! Even if I have to chain him to the foot of the bed!"
I stayed by Nathan's bedside for fear he would choke to death on his own vomit. I still can't understand my brother, who was born with me, and I always envied him because he was the more "normal" one. He had his own wolf at the age of 15, and no one dared to bully him at school. But he seemed to find it more meaningful to spend time with the punks than to train.
"You're awake?" I handed him a glass of water.
"Hmm." Nathan drank the glass of water honestly, and I read the guilt on his face.
"Aren't you going to say something?"
"There's nothing to say."
"Where did you get your drugs? If you don't tell me truthfully, Father will really lock you up at the foot of the bed."
"A girl took me to her house and we ate this together."
"Who is that girl?"
"Don't ask, I won't let you go to her."
"You're unbelievable! I'll keep an eye on you from today, don't even think about touching these things."
"Got it, you go." Nathan lay back under the covers then rolled over and turned his back to me.
I suddenly felt tired and I wondered if it wouldn't be better to have the Alpha put him in prison for forced rehab. But I still couldn't visualize that image. He was my twin brother, and no matter how different our personalities were, our bloodlines were connected.
But what I didn't expect was that the next time he got high I learned about it from the Alpha.
