At this time, the first phase of the manual construction was also about halfway through and was shaping form.
One of the main projects was the government hub.
The parks and some commercial areas inside the complex, for the convenience of the employees and guests, had already been set up, and the buildings have 2 or 3 floors already finished with the structural elements.
One of the special things about these government buildings was the utilities. Other than the basic water, plumbing, they were now completely with electricity and also landlines or telephones!
The latter was something most of them hadnāt experienced anymore, already born when portable communication devices were the norm. Fortunately, they had some who knew it (i.e. the three old men), including some information saved in Altheaās tablet.
Aether letters were great, but despite Kalfeneās productivity, those things were still better off used by guards and other people who were always on their feet.
Besides, since they had developed the Aether Letter blocker, having a self-contained mode of communication would also be helpful.
Like this, the complex, after it was completed, might be the most advanced set of buildings in Alterra!
...
Oslo also received a new inheritance after all the things he made. This was called [Building Improvement]!
In his case, he could add extra defense stats in buildings just for the price of some material and gold. The caveat was that it could not be used for System buildings.
For most Xenoan architects, that limitation made it a useless skill. Most of the architects depended on either blueprints or system buildings, after all, because manual construction tended to be too costly, took too long to build, and did not have the functional advantages of system buildings.
However, for Oslo and Alterra, it was perfect. They had a great balance of all three kinds of buildingsāthat was: system-made, aether blueprint, and manual constructionāafter all, though they did hope to create more aether blueprints soon...
Anyway, for the next couple of weeks, things were fairly standard. The construction works were at their peak, more and more people were coming in by the droves, and everyoneāincluding Altheaāwas training their strengths.
Unexpectedly, at some point, Althea received an interesting notification.
[You have met the conditions for upgrading Pharmacy Hall (Lv1)]
[/] 1,000,000 Items Sold
[/] 10,000 Unique Customers
[/] 3 Pharmacist as Permanent Citizens
[Would you like to upgrade with 10000 Wood, 10000 Stone, 10000 Gold?]
[Yes| No]
Of course, she said yes. It was a bit expensive, though, but she already expected the upgrades to cost several times their construction cost. In the Pharmacyās case, building it cost 2000 gold; now it was five times that. How expensive would the next upgrade be?
[Upgraded! Pharmacy (Lv1) to Pharmacy (Lv2)!]
[-10000 Wood, -10000 Stone, -10000 Gold!]
She climbed up and saw new shelves with different potions. She had already done her research in Ferrol, so she naturally knew what these potions were, and they were all good things and useful for battle.
As she listened to the other people climbing up the stairs, she set up the purchase limits here too. She knew full well about her citizensā consumption.
She limited it to a maximum of 1 per type of potion per day for normal citizens, guests, and visitors, 2 for guards and permanent residents, and 3 for those who obtained Alterraās excess token, which was the token bought with (a large amount of) contribution points that could increase the purchase limits of whoever owned it.
Of course, the limit was based on the current stocks, so the Excess Token owners were the main clients for āprofessional queuersā, who lined up for others as a way of living.
Althea bought a few each to take in her space, and she also stood aside while more and more people queued up, excitedly buying. Some lamented that they could only buy one of each, while some just jeered at them to hurry up.
Now, there were temporary improvement potions like the Agility Potion, Defense Potion, and Immunity Potion. Intermediate-level Health and Mana Potions were now available as well.
The Basic Agility Potion would grant the user a 100% increase in their speed, provided the user was level 20 and below. It would have decreasing effects until level 40 at only 10%, beyond which it would be completely useless.
The Basic Defense Potion was similar, except it was in the Defense stat, while the Basic Immunity Potion was immunity to poison, paralysis, and other physical debuffs against monsters level 20 and below, with decreasing immunity.
Still, even with decreased effects, even 1% increase could prove helpful, especially in life and death battles.
The Intermediate Health and Mana potions, on the other hand, also had twice the capability of the ones below. Their price was also quite beautiful. However, for people above level 20, this was their go-to basic potion.
She smiled. Thankfully, she had already secured the raw materials for the new potions even before, after visiting Ferrol.
For this case, it wasnāt that the system building wouldnāt be able to create the potions without the raw materials, but there was a cap. For example, Ferrol could only sell 1000 copies each per day, at least before they followed Alterraās example of planting their own raw materials.
With the number of farms Alterra dedicated to these raw materials (including new land upon expansion), there were no worries and a practically unlimited supply of potions as long as they were paid for.
Another step stronger, Alterra.
