A Widow's Poison, A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 340

“Don’t worry, it won’t take long,” Starla said, taking a bite of an apple. A small smile played on her lips. “Getting this divorce will be the easiest part.”

Garret understood. After the chaos she had caused, the entire Yelchin family was likely desperate to get her out of their lives for good. Fairfax had probably already heard the news.

Just then, Tanya called.

Starla answered, “Tanya.”

“I just got word about a series of fires today,” Tanya said. “I did some digging, and it turns out they were all at properties belonging to Xenia, Darleen, and even Brinley.”

“I did it.”

Tanya was momentarily speechless. Then she laughed. Of course. This was exactly what she expected. She knew Starla’s return to the Yelchin estate would cause an earthquake, but she had imagined Starla would confine her torment to within the mansion’s walls. She hadn't expected her to systematically destroy all their assets.

“They love to take things from me, don’t they?” Starla’s voice was calm. “But just because they steal something doesn’t make it theirs.”

“True enough,” Tanya agreed. It was a fatal mistake to assume that stolen goods truly belong to the thief. “I’m surprised they didn’t have a stroke on the spot.”

“Two of them have already fled,” Starla reported. “There’s still one upstairs.”

Xenia and Darleen were gone. Brinley, however, was still holding out, likely because she hadn't received the news yet.
