Listening to her brother, Starla realized even she wanted Susanna dead now. The Yelchins were truly a masterclass in breeding revulsion.
"Or what?" Elmer demanded, radiating lethal authority. His most prized heir was destroying himself over a woman. "Did you think marrying Jane Merlin would blind me to how much you prioritize Susanna? You've made it far too obvious this time."
Yardley pushed himself off the floor, his face twisted in a dark scowl. Before he could speak, his phone vibrated. It was the landline from Susanna's villa.
He answered. "Speak."
Whatever was said on the other end drained the color from his face.
"Who took her?!" he roared, his eyes immediately snapping to Starla.
Starla's brow twitched. *Who took her? Susanna was kidnapped?*
Yardley ended the call and glared at Starla, a hurricane of fury in his eyes. "It was you, wasn't it?"
"Yardley!" Elmer barked.
The sheer disrespect of his son prioritizing this irrelevant woman pushed Elmer to the brink of murder.
