Ophelia didn't feel the least bit awkward even though Jeremy had heard what she said. Instead, she simply turned around and looked at him. "Am I wrong? Melody's your fiancée, but have you shown her any respect?"
Melody lowered her gaze when she heard what Ophelia said. She subtly pursed her lips, but she didn't turn her gaze to Jeremy.
On the other hand, Jeremy's gaze stayed glued to Melody. It might not have been inquisitive, but it was certainly a little cold.
Ophelia scoffed. "Don't look at her. She didn't say anything to me.
"Jeremy, just search your soul. When have you ever lent Melody a helping hand when she needed it? From what I heard, you're quite close to that Wardolf girl.
"You need to hear this, Jeremy. The Thompson family will not tolerate it if you call off your engagement with Melody and get together with Krystal!"
At the next moment, Jeremy's face darkened. He icily said, "I didn't say anything about calling off the engagement."
For some reason, everyone kept thinking that he would call off his engagement with Melody. He clenched his jaw and frowned slightly. Then, he fixed his gaze on Melody, curious about her response.
However, it didn't seem like Melody wanted to offer any explanation.
Jeremy narrowed his eyes with a grim look.
He'd had a meeting in the afternoon, but it wasn't at the hospital. Rather, he had to rush back from Westpoint for it.
At first, he'd intended to swing by the hospital to pick Melody up, but he was later informed that she had left. He wasn't upset that he had made the trip for nothing, but the way she resisted him rubbed him the wrong way.
Jeremy let out an exasperated chuckle.
As luck would have it, Andrew brought Laura and Krystal over at that very moment.
He handed all the presents he brought to Krystal and said, "Krys, hurry up and greet Ophelia."
"She's good and everything, but both her character and looks are a little petty. Otherwise, she could've been shooting it along with Krys."
Ophelia nonchalantly asked, "Really?"
"Yeah." Andrew sighed. "Jeremy knows about it too. Everyone in the hospital got together and voted for the lead for the promotional video.
"Melody was one vote short. In fact, Jeremy was the one who cast the decisive vote."
Melody pursed her lips. Andrew had never treated her like family, but it still felt crappy when he belittled her like this.
Ophelia turned her gaze to Jeremy and gave him a mocking look.
However, Jeremy simply looked at Melody and said in a detached tone, "It's over. There's no need to talk about it over and over."
