A Man Like None Other (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6739

The bodies had been cleared from the ruins of Black Abyss Valley, and every scattered fragment of enchanted weaponry and every Storage Ring had been gathered.

It took Jared, Gwendolyn, Master Veridian, and the young acolyte a full day to bring the battlefield's valuables together.

The supplies formed a small mountain: Storage Rings and Storage Pouches from more than 10,000 corpses, enchanted artifacts, pills, and spiritual materials.

There were also fragments of damaged divine artifacts left behind by the celestial experts who had exploded, along with Aureon's Celestial Emperor's Sovereign Blade, which had broken and then been restored through spacetime.

Piled together, the resources resembled a miniature treasury, reflecting a riot of colors beneath the setting sun.

Master Veridian squatted beside the heap, his eyes wide as bells and drool almost running from the corner of his mouth.

"Good heavens... All this treasure... I've lived for more years than I can count, but I've never seen spoils this rich..."

The young acolyte crouched beside him, clutching half of a shattered jade plaque. He cocked his head and asked, "Master, how much is all this worth?"

"How much?" Master Veridian grinned. "Enough to buy you more spirit fruit than you could eat in 100 lifetimes!"

Jared walked up to the heap and swept his violet gaze across the dazzling array of enchanted artifacts, jade slips, pills, and crystals.

His attention lingered on several Storage Rings glowing with golden divine light.

They had belonged to the celestial experts brought by the man in white. Most of what they carried had been destroyed when their bodies exploded, but a few precious objects had survived.

"These resources will raise our strength by a considerable margin," Jared said calmly.

"Old Veridian, set aside the cultivation jade slips and enchanted artifacts. Keep all the spirit crystals and pills. We're going into the Pentacarna Tower to cultivate."

At the words "Pentacarna Tower," Master Veridian's eyes shone even brighter. "Mr. Chance, could I go inside and share in the benefits?

"If these old bones of mine can break through one more level, I'll be able to take a few extra blows for you when we reach the Twenty-First Firmament!"

Jared turned his gaze toward the boy. "And what will you do with your young acolyte?"

"We'll bring him! He can come with us! The boy has decent talent. He just never had a good master to teach him."

Master Veridian patted the boy on the head.

The young acolyte looked up and blinked. "Master, didn't you say I was hopelessly dull?"

"Only because I didn't want you getting conceited!" Master Veridian replied without the slightest shame.

The corner of Jared's mouth lifted. "Then both of you can come. We don't have much time. We need to reach a level that will let us establish ourselves in the Twenty-First Firmament as quickly as possible."

They went into the Emperorfall Expanse, stopping only when they reached a pocket of relatively stable void.

Jared summoned the Pentacarna Tower. Its black structure hovered in the emptiness while silver sigils flowed over its surface like living things, releasing a profound power of spacetime.

"Inside," Jared said.

Time moved 100 times faster inside the tower than it did outside.

One hundred days within amounted to a single day beyond its walls.

Jared divided the mountain of cultivation resources into several portions. Master Veridian received 70 percent, and the boy received 30 percent.

There were only so many resources to go around, so nothing could be wasted.

Master Veridian stared at the pile of spirit crystals and pills before him, so moved that he nearly dropped to his knees before Jared. "Mr. Chance, this... Following you must be the reward for all the blessings my ancestors accumulated!"

"Enough nonsense. Cultivate."
