A Man Like None Other (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6625

Rowan's face darkened. "Since when have I joked about something like this? Mr. Chance may only show Golden Immortal Level One, but his combat power is far beyond his realm. Thirteen Golden Immortal Level Five demon hounds. Mr. Chance killed them alone, one sword per beast, in under a minute."

The square erupted.

Every villager stared, eyes wide, mouths open.

"One sword for each Golden Immortal Level Five demon hound?"

"He killed thirteen of them in under a minute?"

"How is that possible?"

"Captain Rowan, are you sure you are not exaggerating?"

Rowan snorted and pulled a demon hound core from his storage pouch. He held it high for everyone to see.

"Look at this. A Golden Immortal Level Five demon hound core. We have thirteen of them, and every single one came from a beast Mr. Chance killed. Anyone who thinks I am bragging can come check it for themselves."

The villagers crowded closer.

Shock filled their eyes as they looked at the core in Rowan's hand.

A Golden Immortal Level Five demon hound core was real proof. It could not be faked.

Thirteen cores.

A full thirteen.

That meant thirteen Golden Immortal Level Five demon hounds had truly been killed.

And the person who had killed them was this young man who looked like a mere Golden Immortal Level One cultivator.

The villagers looked at Jared differently now.

Curiosity became awe.

Suspicion became worship.

"Mr. Chance..."

An old man with white hair stepped out of the crowd. His steps were unsteady, but his eyes were clear and bright.

He was Golden Immortal Level Six.

He was the chief of Clearwind Village.

Jared looked at him and nodded slightly.

The old man came to Jared and bowed deeply.

"I am Alden Farrow, chief of Clearwind Village. Thank you, Mr. Chance, for saving our people."

His voice was old but strong. "Clearwind Village is poor, but we will never forget your kindness."

Jared helped him straighten. "Chief Farrow, there is no need for that. It was only a small favor."

Alden stood upright and studied Jared. A complicated look moved through his aged eyes.

"Mr. Chance, did you come to Clearwind Village for a reason?"

"I would like to stay here for a few days and learn more about the Nineteenth Firmament," Jared said. "I can also take a look at your demon hound problem while I am here."

Alden's eyes lit at once. Joy flooded his face.

"Truly? Wonderful. Thank you, Mr. Chance."

He bowed several more times, unable to hide his excitement. "Those demon hounds have troubled us for years. Many villagers have died, and we had no real way to deal with them. If you are willing to help, everyone in Clearwind Village will be grateful."

Jared nodded. "You are too polite. Please take us to a place where we can stay first."

"Of course. Please follow me."

Alden turned and led Jared and Gwendolyn into the village.

Rowan followed behind them, smiling.

The villagers whispered among themselves as they watched Jared's back. Their eyes carried awe and expectation.

Could this young man truly solve their demon hound problem?

They did not know.

But they wanted to believe it.

After all, Rowan had said that Jared could kill a Golden Immortal Level Five demon hound with one sword.

No one in Clearwind Village could match that.

Perhaps he really could do it.

Jared and Gwendolyn stayed in Clearwind Village for a day.
