A Man Like None Other (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6577

Jared said nothing.

Of the three key fragments, he only had one.

The other two could have been anywhere, in anyone's hands.

Finding them would be like searching for a needle in the ocean.

But he didn't let that shake him.

He'd walked roads harder than this.

He'd faced situations far more hopeless.

As long as one fragment was still in his hand, he wasn't starting from nothing.

"Thank you for clearing that up, Senior."

Jared rose and cupped his fist in salute.

Master Alaric Vale stood as well and waved it off.

"You're too polite, Mr. Chance. I only told you what you would have learned sooner or later anyway."

"What do you plan to do next, Mr. Chance?"

Jared's hand settled on the sword hilt, and a cold glint flashed through his violet eyes.

"I'm going to the Hall of Radiance."

Master Alaric Vale's brows drew together slightly.

"The Hall of Radiance? Do you have a grievance with them, Mr. Chance?"

"I do."

Jared's voice stayed calm, but beneath that calm was a killing intent cold enough to make the skin crawl.

"They hurt someone they never should've touched."

He didn't say who it was.

He didn't have to.

Master Alaric Vale saw the answer in his eyes.

That look only appeared when it was for the person who mattered most.

Cold.

Absolute.

Leaving no room at all.

"The Hall of Radiance isn't an enemy you can afford to underestimate."

A note of gravity entered Master Alaric Vale's voice.

"Their Hall Master is at Golden Immortal Realm Level Five. Their Deputy Hall Master is at Golden Immortal Level Four. They have dozens of elders and thousands of disciples. Your combat strength is astonishing, Mr. Chance, but to go up against the entire Hall of Radiance alone..."

"I never said I was going alone."

Jared cut him off and held his gaze with those violet eyes.

"Senior, you said the three hundred disciples of Ashford Hollow were willing to honor me as the next Chief Preceptor of the Aureate Way and follow me even unto death."

Master Alaric Vale gave a small start.

He looked into Jared's eyes.

There was no hesitation there. No testing. No doubt.

Only a certainty that couldn't be questioned.

For a moment, he said nothing.

Then Master Alaric Vale smiled.

It was a faint smile, but it was real—like an old man who had kept watch for tens of thousands of years and had finally seen the person he'd been waiting for.

"Good," he said softly, and with complete conviction. "The three hundred disciples of Ashford Hollow are willing to march with you, Mr. Chance."

Jared nodded, and they arranged a place for him to rest.

But once he lay down, sleep never came.

His mind was a complete tangle.

Now that he knew there was a whole cosmic river of stars beyond the celestial realm, then what exactly was Mr. Sanders?

Was he from the celestial realm?

Or from beyond it, from the heavens and the myriad worlds?

And what about his father?

Wasn't he the Golden Dragon?

And Edmund Hawthorne—what was he, really?

Question after question pressed in on Jared, each mystery tightening around him.

After lying there for who knew how long, Jared finally dragged the blanket over his head and forced himself to stop thinking.

He'd already come this far. He could take it one step at a time.

And if the day came when he couldn't keep going, then he'd stop and rest.

Or let his son take over.

Or his grandson.

Either way, he wasn't worried. He had enough women in his life that running out of sons probably wasn't going to be the problem.
