The guests who were present at the gala were not fools. They could clearly see that Gerard was biased toward Peter, so they also went ahead and threw their support behind the Roe, Trevell, and Gould families, thoroughly isolating Elias and Caspian.

Jack pinned his gaze on Gerard, looking as if he had predicted Gerard's reaction from the very beginning. He said in a low voice, "Since there is irrefutable evidence, I think the relevant departments of Tarthy City should arrest Peter immediately and interrogate him."

Gerard wasn't given a chance to speak before one of the high-ranking officials next to him beat him to the punch. "Who the hell do you think you are to speak to Mr. Cadwallader this way?" he exclaimed at Jack angrily.

Caspian stepped forward. "Say that again one more time!"

The air surrounding Caspian changed rapidly. His eyes were ice-cold as he glared daggers at the official. Caspian had no plans to hold himself back just because he was in Tarthy City. After all, not only was he the undisputed leader of Calisota's underground, but he had received Jack's personal teachings. These days, only he was allowed to flaunt his arrogance in front of others and not the other way around.

"You dare to threaten us! You—"

The official was about to scream when Caspian's hand shot out suddenly to clamp around his neck. Caspian then sank his teeth into the man's flesh as if he was a wild beast.

"Let go! You jackass! Let go of him now!"

Winona reacted instinctively when she saw Caspian make his move. She dashed forward and tried to pry his fingers away from the official's neck. However, there was no way that she could overwhelm him with her own lacking power, so her efforts were in vain.

Caspian only had to exert not even a fraction of his strength to send her flying. Seeing that Winona was in danger, Gerard's temper exploded as he yelled, "How dare you? Let go!"

His order flew right over Caspian's head. It was obvious that Caspian didn't care one bit about what Gerard had to say.

"Mr. Cadwallader, since this man has proof of Peter's crimes, you should launch an investigation into his misdeeds instead of attempting to suppress the issue. Those who aren't privy to the details might even misunderstand your actions and assume that you're biased toward Peter!"

A magnetic voice resounded from a corner just as everyone's attention was focused on Caspian and Gerard. A tall and charming man stepped forward slowly, followed by another man and a woman. The man leading the small party was none other than Jack!

The right opportunity had presented itself. The atmosphere in the hall had turned a little too chaotic. If Jack didn't make his move then, Caspian might really get shot by the bodyguards! It was why Jack decided to step forward and involve himself in the fray.

Everyone looked at him with confused expressions. Since he wasn't active in Tarthy City, most of Tarthy's upper class didn't know who Jack was. Only those within his small circle knew his identity. The guests were bewildered, wondering why so many foreign faces were stepping forward to challenge Gerard and the Big Four.

Some even suspected that a conspiracy must be afoot.
