A Life Beyond Limits novel Chapter 1044

Jack walked forward calmly, carrying himself with a formidable demeanor. Even Caspian, who was arrogant to a fault, quietly lowered his head when Jack passed by.

Meanwhile, Feena's and Bella's complexions turned as pale as a sheet. They couldn't understand why Jack would involve himself in a fierce conflict between the upper class of Tarthy City. They wondered if he thought of himself as a savior and could turn the tide in Elias' and Caspian's favor.

No matter how much they admired Jack's talents, they didn't believe he was capable of doing anything during this battle. Everyone present at the gala was a part of Tarthy City's upper class. He shouldn't have intervened in the situation.

Winona, Casey, and Wilhelmina had also taken notice of Jack's appearance. After all, Jack did look as if he was glowing from within at that moment. Winona had witnessed first-hand how fearless Jack had been when he was facing off against Patrick. Casey had seen Ignatius lose his cool in front of Jack while Wilhelmina was privy to Jack's astounding background.

As a result, all three women knew that Jack wouldn't step forward if he didn't have a plan. On the contrary, they were struck with the sensation that everything that had transpired so far was under Jack's control. If their gut feelings turned out to be true, it proved that Jack was truly a frightening man.

Casey's and Winona's hearts were hammering against their chests. As they stared into Jack's eyes that were as deep as the abyss, they felt fear grip their hearts, their breath getting stuck in their throats.

Only Wilhelmina knew the true extent of Jack's fearsome power. In fact, she wasn't sure what triggered it, but she couldn't help but think that Jack was rather attractive at that moment. She even felt that Jack was immensely eye-catching, even if he wasn't illuminated by any spotlights. His every move was able to tug at the heartstrings of all who were present.

Patrick and Ignatius also rose to their feet. Each of them had their own personal view of Jack. They were both certain that Jack's appearance would push the charity gala into an even greater frenzy. Everyone who came before him, no matter how flashy their title may be, were just small fry compared to him.

Only Jack was the real main character of the gala. He had planned everything from behind the scenes and had everyone dancing on the palm of his hand according to his whims.

Jack smiled. His strange charm made Gerard's heart tremble in his chest. He had seen Jack once—when he had crossed paths with Quintis during the banquet. Jack had stood by Quintis' side, which made it obvious that he was one of Quintis' men.

But at the moment, Jack gave Gerard the impression that he was someone who was especially difficult to deal with. In fact, he might be even more dangerous than Quintis. It was the first time in Gerard's life that he didn't have confidence in himself or the situation.

When Jack walked over to Elias and Caspian to take his place in front of them, the two of them naturally retreated a few steps to make space for Jack. Respect rolled off Elias in waves as he finally understood the invisible but vast difference that existed between himself and Jack.

As for Caspian, he wasn't shy at all in showing how passionately he worshiped Jack. He was perfectly content to let Jack take the lead. If Jack gave the order for him to kill 10,000 people, Caspian would be more than happy to oblige him.
