A Female Alpha’s Revenge
Chapter 890
Third Person’s POV-
She stared hard at Sylvia. Seeing that Hespere was genuinely angry, Sylvia fell silent at once.
Sylvia’s words had left Hespere cold inside. She’d never expected the victim to face so many baseless accusations.
The night Owen was punished, Paisley slipped into Gideon’s house.
She’d assumed anyone capable of something like that would look cruel and vicious. Instead, Gideon looked gentle, almost harmless.

When he saw Paisley kick his bedroom door open, his eyes went wide with shock, his whole face reading as innocent, even naive.
For a second, Paisley wondered if she had the wrong man. She asked, suspicious. “You’re Gideon Langley?”
Gideon nodded in fear. A few seconds later, he finally screamed.
Paisley drove her foot hard into his stomach. He flew backward and slammed into the floor.
To keep him from shifting, she leaped up and landed square on his calf.
A sharp, agonized scream burst from Gideon’s throat.
Paisley’s slit pupils narrowed in the dim light. She planted her other foot on his lower back and listened to his spine crack before she finally felt satisfied.
Pinned to the ground, Gideon couldn’t move. Paisley had shifted fully into a sleek-furred wolf by then. She sank her claws in and tore apart his vertebrae one by one, working down his spine.
His screams tore through the night and echoed across the pack’s territory.
Still not satisfied, Paisley grabbed his jaw in a powerful grip and slapped him more than a dozen times, not stopping until he spat blood and passed out.
She laughed coldly and walked off without a backward glance.
The next day, both the Royal Patrol and the Capital Guard got word.
A top assassin had broken into Gideon’s bedroom and beaten him nearly to death. He’d coughed up blood and barely survived.
The healer said that even if he recovered, he’d be paralyzed from the waist down for the rest of his life.
Both units launched a full search for the assassin.
New York’s civilians couldn’t stop talking about it either. Under the king’s rule, an attack this vicious had happened. Did that mean the country’s security was falling apart?

Chapter 890
After digging around, Adelaide turned up a witness.
According to the story going around, a Yogue had been wandering the city, heard that Gideon had once driven his own sister to her death, decided he didn’t deserve his position, and beat him half to death one night as a result.
Later, Adelaide let it slip that she’d uncovered more evidence. She announced that the recent rumors of Sophie being assaulted were completely false, and that Gideon, believing those rumors, had driven Sophie to take her own life.
Once that came out, the public turned on Gideon and mourned for Sophie.
Plenty of werewolves showed up at Gideon’s door with flowers, mourning Sophie’s short, hard life.
Sophie Langley was still alive. To give her a fresh start, Adelaide had chosen to hide the truth from the public with a well-intentioned lie.
Paisley gave her a new name: Charlotte Smith.
At a street corner not far from Gideon’s house, Charlotte hid in the shadows with Adelaide and Paisley.
Watching so many strangers leave flowers for her, hearing their quiet prayers and blessings, she finally broke down.
She leaned into Paisley’s shoulder, her voice shaking.
“No one’s ever cared about me like this before, not since I was a kid. If I tried to end my life again after this, I’d be letting.all of you down.
“Gamma Adelaide. Paisley. I promise you, I’ll live a good life from now on.”
Paisley’s eyes went red. Watching Charlotte climb back from total despair to finding a reason to live, she felt, for the first time, like the work she was doing actually mattered.
When Adelaide first proposed setting up the Independent She-wolf Center, it had come from carefui thought. Paisley, who tended to act on impulse, had only gone along with it without really understanding why.
Now, for the first time, she truly felt the weight of it.
After bringing Charlotte back to the center, Adelaide returned to the hot spring club.
She still had to deal with the person responsible for leaking the assault news. Then she discovered that the club’s deputy manager was the one who sold the information.
Adelaide didn’t handle him herself. She handed him over to Marcus instead.
Marcus clearly wasn’t going to keep an employee who sold guests’ private information for cash. He had the deputy manager beaten badly and then thrown out of New York for good.
By the time Charlotte’s situation was fully settled, it was already the end of June.
When July arrived, New York was sweltering. The heat was thick and oppressive, making even a short walk
