“He belongs to the Styxwarden Pack. How you deal with him is your call. I want to see how you sentence him.”
Stanley pressed his lips into a thin line, cursing Adelaide in his head a dozen times over.
She was far too sharp. She wanted to push all the responsibility onto him.
She clearly wanted Owen dead, but she wouldn’t say it herself.
That way, whoever dug this up later, she could claim she had nothing to do with it, and neither did the Blackthorn Pack.
Stanley gritted his teeth, his face grim, and spoke to the guards outside the door.
“Take Owen out back and beat him to death.”
Owen froze, hardly able to believe Stanley had abandoned him this easily.
He began begging desperately.
“Alpha, please! Have mercy! Spare my life!”
When Stanley turned away and refused to look at him, Owen crawled toward Adelaide, screaming.
“Even by the law, I don’t deserve to die! I won’t accept this! I’ll report you to the Ministry of Justice! This is all your fault, you vicious bitch! You forced Alpha to kill me!”
A cold look flickered in Adelaide’s eyes.
“Go ahead. Ask Alpha right now whether he’s willing to take you to the Ministry of Justice.”
Owen went limp. He turned to Stanley with desperate eyes, sobbing on the ground.
“Alpha, please! Take me to the Ministry of Justice! Let the officials there decide my punishment!”
Stanley’s eyes went wide. He couldn’t believe this fool could be so stupid.

Sending Owen to the Ministry of Justice meant the scandal would go public, and the Styxwarden Pack’s reputation would be ruined for good. There was no way Owen didn’t understand that.
Since Stanley had taken charge of the Styxwarden Pack, there’d only ever been one iron rule for every member: even at the cost of your own life, you never disgrace the pack.
Now Owen had openly betrayed that creed. There was no reason left to keep him alive.
Whatever softness or guilt Stanley had felt vanished instantly.
A burning, metallic aura burst from him. Cold-faced, he gave his final order.
“Take him away.”
The guards stepped forward, lifted Owen, and carried him out to the garden behind the house.
Blow after blow landed on him until he couldn’t make a sound anymore.
“Gamma Adelaide. Are you satisfied with this outcome?”
Stanley’s eyes burned with anger.
“This was Gideon’s mistake from the start. For the Styxwarden Pack, this was trouble that landed on us for no reason at all. I never expected you to be this ruthless.”
Adelaide let out an angry laugh.
“If Owen had never touched Sophie, none of this would have anything to do with the Styxwarden Pack. But he raped her, so you can’t walk away from it. And why did he think he could get away with it? Because he believed you were the Lycan Luna Camilla’s father. He figured that even if he broke the law, he’d escape punishment.”
With that, she glanced once at Stanley’s grim face and rose to leave.
When she reached the courtyard, she gave Owen a cold look. His clothes were soaked in blood, and he was still breathing, faint and ragged.
Luna Hespere had stood outside the courtyard the entire time. When Adelaide walked out, Hespere nodded to her in greeting.
She’d been standing by the door long enough to hear the whole conversation between Adelaide and Stanley.

Chapter 880
She fell in beside Adelaide, and it wasn’t until they were halfway down the path that the spoke
“How is the poor victim doing now?
“She’s staying at the Independent She Wolf Center. Arlelaide said quietly. But she still hasn’t let go of the idea of ending her life”
Hespere was silent for a long moment. When she’d walked Adelaide to the pack’s main gate, she finally looked up
“If there’s anything I can do to help, tell me.”
Adelaide nodded. “Thank you for your kindness.”
Hespere stood at the gate and watched Adelaide’s figure disappear into the distance
Only when Rufus Grady, Owen’s father, arrived with his mate, both of them in tears, begging her to send for the healer to save Owen, did she finally lower her gaze.
“Go ask Alpha,” she said. “This isn’t mine to decide.”
Rufus dropped to his knees and grabbed the hem of her dress, sobbing so hard he could barely breathe.
“Luna! Please, for the sake of our family’s years of loyal service to this pack, save my son!”
