You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 778

“Aunt Patricia, did you miss me? It’s been, like, forever!”

Patricia nodded, her smile gentle. “Of course I did.” She waved at Jaxon and the others as they came in.

In the hospital room’s lounge, Selara hooked her arm through Patricia’s and lowered her voice. “The whole family heard you two had a fight. They’re freaking out. Mom was this close to flying over just to slap Oliver herself. He’s always had a temper. You must have had a tough time.”

Patricia shook her head. “I’m not perfect either.”

“Aunt Patricia, you? Please. Uncle Oliver’s the real problem,” Sara piped up from the couch. She scooted closer, her face earnest. “You don’t think he’s just pretending to be pitiful, do you?”

“I have no idea,” Patricia said quietly.

Selara poked Sara’s forehead. “I checked, okay? He’s not faking it. The medical records are legit.”

“Mom, are you just pretending to take Aunt Patricia’s side? Are you actually sticking up for Uncle Oliver?”

“Enough,” Selara snapped. “Out.”

Sara pouted, gave a little huff, and shuffled out of the room.
