Angel quickly rubbed her eyes to look drowsy. “Where’s my Daddy? I want to sleep with him. I can’t sleep by myself.”
The servant knitted her eyebrows, “Unfortunately, Mr. Moore just went out.”
She could not understand why Mr. Moore wanted her to guard Angel’s room, but it was his order. He even made it clear that she was not allowed to doze off. She had no choice as the ferocious look he had that night was terrifying.
When she recalled that look on his face, her sleepiness was gone. Fortunately, she only needed to stay for three hours and someone else would take over her shift later. She would be worn out otherwise.
Angel asked, astonished, “He went out? Where is Daddy going so late?”
“We, as servants, are not sure. He probably went back to the office. Do you want me to call Mrs. Lawson here to sleep with you?” the servant replied.
How could she escape if Mrs. Lawson came up?
Daddy was cunning. He went as far to have the servants guard the door.
When he drove the car down to the parking lot, he did not get down immediately. He smoked in the car. As he remembered the bruises she had when the doctor was examining her, his heart ached again. He had one last drag on the cigarette and extinguished it. Then, he got down the car and went up the building.
The light in the meeting room on the 23rd floor was still bright. Mandy was sitting in the room, waiting for everyone while she did some research on Simon’s background. This information was clearer than the previous report.
The report showed he and Monique studied in the same high school and there were rumors in school that they were in a relationship. He did not go to the same university as Monique, but something was strange. He did well in the examinations. However, when he was sitting for the last class, he left a lot of blank answers on purpose. Thus, he missed his opportunity to study in H University, the best university in B City.
He started a business while he was in university. Although its profits were brilliant, he sold the company after he graduated, and founded Starry Kindergarten. He invested a great amount of manpower and resources into this kindergarten and the school fees were favorable. The teacher’s benefits were pretty good. Even though there were no shortage of students, it was only enough to stay above the line. The kindergarten was not gaining much profit.
