Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 393

A direct order from the chairman meant it was a decree. Whatever position Monique wanted, she could have it. Assistant Manager Walt would give up his own position if that was what the woman wanted.

“Thank you for your troubles. I’ll take my leave now,” Mandy said before leaving.

Henry wanted to have a look at Monique’s work to assess if there was an adequate reason to promote her. The position of an aide was simply too lowly for someone who was to be the chairman’s wife.

Monique was caught up in her own daydream when the assistant manager came over.

He clapped his hands to get the people’s attention. He said, “Quiet, everyone. I have some good news.”

Everyone in the office stopped and turned to look at Assistant Manager Walt.

A pay raise?

Monique snapped out of her day dream and followed the crowd’s attention.

“Miss Monique Xander did a good job on the proposal. For that, she will be promoted to planning specialist. Effective today!” Assistant Manager Walt announced.

The announcement was met with silence. She was truly the chairman’s woman to get a promotion after less than one week of employment.

Amelia was not thrilled about the news.

She neglected her own work to guide Monique on that proposal yet Monique was promoted? They were both on equal standing after her promotion.

How was this good news for Amelia?

It was the opposite of good news.

The awkward silence was quickly followed by an uproarious applause led by Amelia. The other employees clapped along.

Despite her discontent, Monique Xander was still the chairman’s woman.

If anyone should be promoted, it should be Amelia.

“There’s no mistake. The personnel department will reach out to you soon,” Assistant Manager Walt gave her a congratulatory smile, “Congratulations, Monique! Keep up the good work. You have a bright future ahead.”

Amelia came by to congratulate her, “Well done, Monique!”

The smile on Amelia’s face belied her true thoughts. ‘Promoted because of your skills in bed, huh?’

She did not understand why the chairman liked her.

Monique felt indebted to Amelia as she said, “Thank you so much. If it were not for you, the proposal wouldn’t even be submitted.”

“It was my pleasure. If there’s anything you’re unsure about, please approach me. I’ll do my best to help,” Amelia said warmly.

Assistant Manager Walt was happy to witness the camaraderie. He then said, “Yes, you can learn a lot from Amelia. Once everything is formalized, I’ll pair you up with an aide.”
