Henry smirked and uttered a sound of approval.
That was all he could say to Monique’s elaborate explanation?
Did he forgive her?
Monique silently took the dishes to the sink and began washing them.
Henry did not leave his seat. He watched the woman in the kitchen with a smirk on his face.
He wanted Monique to enjoy herself at the event but seeing her interact with Nick Johnny enraged him. He did not remember her smiling so happily even when he saved her.
At that time, he was worried about her injuries and brought the food upstairs to her.
Instead of appreciating his gesture, she wanted to head downstairs to eat.
She even tried to leave him.
What Nick did was just a tiny favor. Yet, Monique looked at him like he was her savior. How could Henry stay calm in that situation?
Hence, Henry decided to punish the foolish woman.
Who knew the woman would try to drown him then proceed to cry like a baby? His heart softened at the sight of the sobbing woman.
Monique was such an entertaining woman.
He would be sad to let her go after two years. The mention of the agreement gave him a chance to draw up a marriage contract. He would get Mandy to do it.
‘Or I could do it myself tonight…’ Henry thought.
Alright, it was settled.
He would give her this house as an engagement gift.
Henry gave her a sly grin and said. “No one said you were staring at me.”
Monique gave him the evil eye. She was too rash in defending. “You…You meant it that way…”
“Come here!” Henry said.
He was calling her over. Was he going to punish her for talking back?
Henry warned her about the punishments—he would not be lenient the next time. It would be something physical.
Monique knew better than to fall into the devil’s trap. “No way! I’m going…”
She turned around and walked away. She planned to escape through the door by the bar counter.
She glanced at the princely man. His expression remained neutral and his face looked cold like a block of ice.
