Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 361

Whose heart would beat for Monique?

She could only dream of it in her lifetime.

Like the one Henry constructed for her, she would have to wake up one day.

No one would be willing to sacrifice for her. None before, and none in the future.

She was just a speck of dust in the world that would fall onto the ground quietly in the end.

She had gotten used to the idea of it after so many years.

However, there was still a glint of hope buried deep down inside her heart.

This was also the reason that she contemplated for quite some time before changing to this ringtone for the new mobile phone that Henry gave her.

Nick chuckled. “Yeah, that’s why I said that we have the same fate. This just proved me right.”

Monique smiled sweetly and did not reply. She took another sip of orange juice.

Judging from how terrified Paul was just now, she could guess that Nick was as influential as Henry.

As opposed to Henry’s domineering and unreasonable traits, this man was very polite and approachable.

Shortly after, the waiter returned with a band-aid.

Nick took the band-aid from the waiter and walked toward her. He crouched down and said, “Bend your feet over.”

Monique was stunned for a moment before realizing that he was planning to put the band-aid on for her. However, they were not that close yet. Monique said hurriedly, “Let me do it myself…”

“Are you worried that I can’t do it properly?” Nick responded.

“I…” Monique frowned and thought that it was a bad idea.

Before she could process his response, he had already taken her leg in his hand and placed her foot on his knee.

Monique wanted to retract her leg but she felt that it would be more awkward if she did.

Monique lifted her head and saw a towering figure behind Nick. His charming features were as if they were chiseled on ice; cold, and bloodless. His deep, dark eyes were covered by a layer of frost.

Monique fluttered her thick lashes. She wanted to explain but her words were stuck in her throat and could only stare at his raging expression.

It was as if nothing she could do that would change his mind.

Her heart tugged in pain. After a while, she finally managed to speak. “We—” ‘We did not do anything… Mr. Johnny was just helping me put on a band-aid,’ she wanted to say.

Before she could even say it out loud, Henry interjected, “Shut up, I didn’t let you speak.”

Nick stood up calmly as though he was not bothered by Henry at all.

He did not turn around to look at the man behind him who was shooting daggers at him. He smiled and said to Monique, “Monnie, I’m done. Just change into a pair of fitting shoes the next time.”

What a flirt!

Monique shuddered in fear, her eyes fixated on Henry. She was screaming internally, ‘Nick, I’m begging you, stop talking!’
