He made a call to the secretary, Charlotte, who picked it up almost instantly. "Hello, Charlotte from the personnel department speaking. How can I help you?" Charlotte spoke in a straightforward tone.

"Charlotte, it's me, Jayden from the PR department. May I speak to your manager?"

Charlotte lifted her head and found Mr. Harper standing right in front of her, waving his hand continuously.

"Uh right… Mr. Harper is currently not around. Perhaps you can leave a message instead and I'll deliver it to him," Charlotte said in a gentle tone.

She had no idea why Mr. Harper would refuse to answer the call.

"Then can you please make a trip to the PR department? I have things to discuss with you." Jayden hung up after he finished. He made up his mind to have Charlotte take back the newcomer that she introduced.

Charlotte put down the phone. Her lips started moving to say something, but she was cut short when Mr. Harper spoke. "Yvonne went over to their department yesterday. Whatever Mr. Jayden says, you must not bring her back. If you do, she'll be assigned right next to you."

"What!" Charlotte was stunned. She finally understood why Mr. Jayden called up Mr. Harper. "Boss, can you go instead?"

"You can make a move there now," Mr. Harper spat before heading back to his office.

Charlotte was left speechless.

With the elevator, the distance between the personnel department to the public relations department was very short, but for Charlotte, it was a tremendously long journey. It seemed that the PR department wanted to return some 'goods', but Mr. Harper would never allow that to happen. Mr. Harper had stated clearly, "If Yvonne returns, she'll be assigned right next to you."

Thinking of it frustrated Charlotte. She was certain that she would be insane within less than a day if she were to stick around Yvonne.

No matter what Mr. Jayden said, Charlotte would never give in. She would not allow Yvonne’s return to the personnel department and her assignment to a new post.

Charlotte did not reply. Instead, she made a call to Monique from the planning department.

Monique was almost done with her proposal, leaving only the ending incomplete.

Suddenly, the phone on her office desk rang. Ring… ring.

This was Monique's first call at the office, but somehow she instinctively did not feel like picking it up.

However, she picked it up at last and Charlotte's sweet voice came from the other end. "Monique, it’s Charlotte from the personnel department. Are you busy at the moment? Do you think you can make a trip to the PR department to help me out with something?"

Monique could not think of how she could be of any use. Since everyone had been giving her a lot of aid, she was also glad to help others in return. "No problem, please wait for me. I'm on my way there now."
