Monique's little face wore a sweet smile as she saw Amelia's silhouette leave her vision.
She silently encouraged herself. "Keep going Monique, you can do this!"
Beaming at the exit where Amelia disappeared, a sliver of sunlight shone in with gentle warmth. Suddenly, she felt as though she had seen Henry's cold eyes.
She was petrified, feeling a chill travel down her spine as she shut her eyes tightly. Then, she reopened her eyes, only to find out there was nothing at the doorway.
Why did Monique suddenly think of Henry?
Terrified as she was, she chuckled at the illusion of seeing Henry.
‘Oh, Monique. Did Henry’s countless tortures drive you insane? Why would you even be thinking about him…’
Even though Henry had a lot of shortcomings, his company, however, was fabulous; all the colleagues, be it Mr. Harper or his secretary, Charlotte, or even Walt and Amelia; they were all very friendly. These two days, everyone treated her so well.
Monique fell in love with this company. She loved the environment there.
No wonder everyone studied so hard to get into a university: so that they would be able to secure a job in big companies because big companies offered good rewards.
Monique gazed back at the doorway; only rays of sunlight warmly shone through, giving her hope.
Monique summoned all her attention and continued working her proposal until lunch was almost up. She grabbed her handbag, only to find out she had not eaten the pretzels that were in her handbag since the morning. Along with some water, she gobbled up the pretzels as her lunch for the day.
Mr. Jayden remained silent. "Take down the press release that she submitted, edit it, and resubmit. I’ll think about the issue. I'll handle it."
Hannah received the order and left the office room. She was busy the entire morning and was not in the mood to get herself involved with Yvonne.
Judging from what Mr. Jayden said, it looked like Yvonne was about to be sent off.
In the afternoon, Mr. Jayden had almost settled all his documents as he looked outside the window. He saw everybody busy with their work, except for Yvonne, who was sitting alone in a corner, drinking coffee as she enjoyed the scenery outside the window. This made Mr. Jayden very uncomfortable.
This left Mr. Jayden no choice but to send Yvonne back to where she came from!
Mr. Jayden made a call to Mr. Harper, but the latter did not pick up.
