Assistant Manager Walt came over and stopped beside Monique.
Monique's head remained lowered. She desperately hoped that he would turn around and leave.
"Mrs. Xander." Jacob greeted her politely.
Monique greeted him embarrassedly as she raised her head, "Good morning, Assistant Manager Walt!"
"I see that you were early to work today, Mrs. Xander. I'm on my way to the break room, is there anything you would like to drink? I can get it for you." Jacob let out a smile.
Amelia's jaw dropped as she turned her head around. 'Monique was late to work on her second day. This just shows that she has no sense of punctuality. Shouldn't Monique be let go? Or at least be given a warning or lecture?.'
Nonetheless, Assistant Manager Walt did not sound mad at all and he had a gentle facial expression.
Assistant Manager Walt never treated any of the workers that well.
Monique felt awkward as she let out a charming smile and said, "It's alright, Assistant Manager Walt. I brought my own water bottle, I'll just get myself some drinking water later."
Monique brought her own pink-colored water bottle and placed it beside her computer desktop.
Assistant Manager Walt beamed around her desk and spotted the pink water bottle, "Is it that pink bottle?"
Monique dipped her head, "Yes."
Assistant Manager Walt asked her again, "Are you getting used to the working environment?"
Monique gently smiled, "Yeah, everything is fine so far."
In addition to that, the proposal was needed the following day. If Monique were to hand it in the next day, Amelia doubted it could be of any use as it was just the first draft.
'How can the proposal be done on time? Despite it being just a small-branded product, it's still going to affect the company's image.'
Monique gave her words as she stared at Assistant Manager Walt, "Alright, I'll fulfill my task on time."
Assistant Manager Walt gave her a word of encouragement, "Nice, I believe you can do it. Then, you may proceed with the proposal. I'll have someone else get you some water."
Assistant Manager Walt reached out for Monique's pink water bottle as soon as he finished his sentence. It was a very ordinary bottle that Monique purchased for 10 bucks at a supermarket some time ago.
Monique thought of getting her bottle back. However, it was too late for her to do so as the bottle was being handed over to Amelia.
Assistant Manager Walt ordered Amelia, "Amelia, go get Monique some water."
