Wrong Ride, Right Lover novel Chapter 276

Angel gave her mother a peck on the forehead and bid her goodbye. “Bye, Mommy. Remember to pick me up later.”

Monique stared lovingly at her daughter. The makeup she put on in the morning gave her a youthful appearance. “See you later, Angel.”

Miss Sophia noticed that Monique was reluctant to leave even after Angel went into the building. She said, “Miss Xander, don’t worry. The teachers will take good care of your daughter.”

Monique smiled at the teacher and said, “Thank you for yesterday. I’m sorry I needed to leave abruptly.”

Miss Sophia remembered Mrs. Whitman’s words from yesterday. She did not blame Angel’s mother for feeling uncomfortable. “Don’t worry, Miss Xander. I feel a certain connection with you. If you don’t mind, I hope we can be friends.”

“Of course. I would love to have you as a friend. Let’s chat another day, I have to get to work.” Monique was glad she found a friend in Miss Sophia.

“Sure. Have a safe journey,” said Miss Sophia.

The conversation with Miss Sophia brightened Monique’s day.

There was no one in when she arrived at the personnel department. It was a tad bit too early.

She noticed that there was an employee handbook on one of the shelves. She took the book and sat down at an empty desk.

[1. Employees must adhere to the company’s rules and regulations.

[2. Employees must adhere to the working hours.

[3. Employees must strive for excellence, productivity, efficiency…]

Manager Harper failed to connect the dots. He lost his sleep because he believed the woman Henry mentioned would be difficult to deal with. Especially, since he witnessed her cousin’s temper firsthand. The woman before him did not fit the image.

She was dressed in a pink blouse and black slacks. The simple outfit complemented her slender figure and warm personality.

Short hair framed her fair face. The woman looked bright and sharp.

Manager Harper was having a good feeling about this woman. Just looking at her calmed him down.

“What’s your name? And which position are you applying for?” Manager Harper asked.

The question threw Monique off guard. She wondered if the department was informed of her employment. She gripped the hem of her blouse to calm herself.
