Henry slided over towards her. His eyes gazed at her pale face which had been the size of a palm, “Why didn’t you discuss it with me.”
His daughter must have attended only the best school. Could she have even found the best school for Angel?
Monique had been stunned. She looked at his perfect feature, his question sounded like he had been the man of the house. However, when she had given a thought about their relationship, he had only treated her as a lover. There had been nothing else to have discussed, and Angel was not related to him, so she should be the one to have decided which school is the best for her daughter.
She had been stunned for a moment, then pursed her lips. She had a faint smile as she replied in a well-behaved look, “Angel is already four years old, and many parents started sending their children to kindergartens when they are three. I need to find a suitable kindergarten for Angel, so I can focus on my work as well.”
“I’ll find the best kindergarten for Angel!” Henry’s husky voice had been calm, even though his words were simple, there had been an unquestionable domineering aura to it, and he then continued, “I’ll let Shaun arrange it tomorrow.”
“That won’t be necessary.” Monique quickly declined his offer. Her tone of voice was determined. When she realized she had been too straightforward, she opened her mouth with a smile, “I’ve looked into a few kindergarten today, and the one I picked is pretty good. The environment is clean, the teachers are friendly. The price is affordable too. It suits her.”
This woman rejected his offer without hesitation, and she had not even planned to ask for his help. His jaw tightened, his dark eyes pupil had been as sharp as a blade when he looked at the woman in front of him. Although she had been smiling, she had been avoiding him.
His pupil deepened and he replied with a smile, “My child deserves the best school.”
Monique’s facial expression changed. Her face turned pale, there had been a slight ache in her heart. She said in an awkward tone, “Angel is not your child, besides, just because something’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s the best. What’s important is that it suits her best.”
“That’s easy for you to say. I don’t have to worry about it now, but what about two years later when we can’t afford it?” Monique mumbled. She grabbed the spoon with her slender hand and scooped a spoonful of food into her mouth.
This woman had still been thinking about what she would have done two years after that. Henry’s dark pupil deepened. He held her chin up between his fingers to have forced her to look at him. His lips forced a smile, “You’re overthinking it. Are you sure you will still want to leave after two years?”
Monique had been chewing on her food. It had been painful when he held her chin like that. She glared at him, and wanted to have spewed the food on his face. The thought of having a disgusting look on his face had made her feel better.
She swallowed the food and sneered, “It would be unbelievable for you to let a person like me stay here with you after two years. Besides, you said it yourself, you’ll get tired of me within two years, so there won’t be any reason for me to stay even if I wanted to!”
