“You can laugh now. If I throw you in again and you can’t swim up, no one’s going to save you. Sigh... What would happen to the cute, little Angel then? She’s just so cute. I don’t mind raising her but if she becomes a motherless child, what a pity that would be!” Henry said coldly to Monique. Those words pierced her heart.
Achilles’ heel. That was Monique’s Achilles’ heel.
Her face was paler and more fatigued than before.
However, she stayed calm as the situation became dangerous. If he threw her in, he would have insomnia again.
Even though she was scared and helpless, she was not willing to surrender in front of this man. Monique was certain that he would not let her die there, otherwise he would not have saved her.
As a preventive measure, Monique hugged Henry tight like an octopus and smiled provocatively. “I don't want to go down but I’ll never be your lover. Bastard, wouldn't you have insomnia without me? If you threw me down, no one’s going to warm the bed for you!”
He would never see this woman the same way again. She was obviously afraid of him yet she dared to provoke him. On top of that, what she said about not being his lover made his anger surge.
The man’s straight body exuded icy frost, the contours on his handsome face look gloomy as the devil. His cold eyes looked terrifying.
She could kiss a stranger by the roadside whom Henry had lost to.
He was so angry and groggy because of this woman. The more she rejected him, the more he wanted it.
He held her up with his big hand and spread her fingers apart with another.
Her hand was lifted and her legs joined soon after. She had been lifted by Henry again.
However, Monique stubbornly stared at him with her bright brown eyes. She looked disgusted by him and had never intended to beg him, she would not care to struggle for a second.
Even if Henry did not like her, there was no need for him to insult her!
If he did not like her, why would he treat her so well? He ordered a whole table full of dishes for her and her daughter, took both of them shopping, bought clothes for them, built a playground for Angel, and even ordered meals for her with a helicopter.
Monique sneered at him. The beauty in her smile was very thrilling but her heart was full of hideous pain. She did not know how she should face herself for being so absurd.
The woman facing him was smiling bluntly with her cold eyes. For the first time, Henry could feel a sense of frustration and a sudden pain in his heart. He felt extremely anxious.
He had even asked her to beg himself to be his lover. If she wanted it, there was no need for such begging. Was he not forcing her at that moment?
Monique turned around and walked toward the door.
Henry pulled her with one hand.
Did he regret it? Did he still want to throw her into the pool? Monique did not even have the strength to shout at him.
Henry did not look at her. He just took a towel and wrapped her in it.
