Chapter 581
“Hey! Wait!” Thinking Gregory was trying to take his own life, the man cried frantically, “Even if you want to die, pick another balcony to leap off of, not mine!”
But Gregory ignored the man and threw open the window. Bracing an arm against the ledge, he pivoted and flew over the edge. “Holy crap!” the man yelled, panic–stricken as he ran to the balcony to check on Gregory. However, there were no signs of anyone hitting the ground after free–falling from such a great height, and Gregory had completely vanished from sight. “What the hell?” The man scratched the back of his head, looking baffled. “Was I dreaming just now?”
Next door, Anathea cupped her knee and froze in shock when she spotted the towering figure that had flipped over the balcony. Gregory stared at her, going as still as a deer in headlights. She wore nothing but a towel, a clear indication that she’d just gotten out of the shower. Had she and Theo wrapped things up already?
An icy look passed over Gregory’s usually impassive face as he stared at Anathea intently, “Where is he?”
He wanted nothing more than to tear Theo into pieces right now!
“Who?” Anathea frowned, her gaze darting toward the direction he’d come from.
Only the air conditioner compressor unit was out on the balcony, beyond which was a 15–story drop! She wouldn’t even get close to the balcony ledge while airing her laundry, but Gregory had flipped over like it was nothing!
“Are you out of your damn mind, Gregory?” she demanded incredulously. If his hand had so much as slipped, he would have died!
“Yes, I am!” Gregory snapped, rage burning in his eyes. He gripped Anathea’s bare shoulders. “I lost my damn mind from the moment Theo stepped through your front door!”
His sharp gaze swept across the living room, searching for Theo so that he could punch the latter in the face!
However, the living room was empty. No one else was here.
Gregory went still.
“What the hell are you doing, Gregory?” Anathea struggled against his grip. “Who are you looking for? What’s gotten into you?”
The maddening thoughts and irrational conclusions in Gregory’s head disappeared at once. When he realized he was clutching Anathea’s towel, he instinctively loosened his grip, but the towel slipped right off her frame in the process.
A high–pitched gasp escaped Anathea. The blood drained from her face as she instantly clutched the towel and wrapped it
around herself.
Gregory hadn’t expected this turn of events. He froze, then opened his mouth to explain himself. “Annie,
I-”
A loud crack split the air as Anathea slapped him hard across the face without warning.
Gregory’s face was turned to the side, his handsome profile stinging with a fiery pain. He didn’t have to question the amount of force Anathea had packed into that slap.
“Not only are you crazy, you’re also a pervert!” Anathea snapped through gritted teeth.
He said nothing and only stared at Anathea’s ashen face, though some color had crept across her cheeks. She looked flustered, anxious, and angry, her emotions seemingly all over the place.
He could understand her being flustered and angry. But for her to be anxious…
Gregory glanced around the apartment. They were indeed the only ones here. If the leather shoes outside the door truly were
