Chapter 601
“Um… I’m tired.” Anathea quickly buried her face in the covers.
If they went for another round, she swore her back would snap in half.
Gregory chuckled and pulled her into his arms. “I was just kidding. Get some sleep.”
Anathea gave a nod, nestled into his chest, and closed her eyes. She slept soundly for the first time in a long while.

Sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains and spilled across the bed. Anathea had just lazily stretched when her hand happened to land right on someone’s firm abs.
A glint of mischief flickered in her eyes. She gave them a good feel, then slowly moved her hand downward.
Suddenly, the blankets shifted. Gregory rolled over and pinned her beneath him. His tall frame completely enveloped hers. Meeting his unfathomable gaze, Anathea swallowed hard. “When did you wake up?”
“Before you did,” he said smoothly.
So he had been awake the whole time. He pretended to sleep with his shirt conveniently pulled up just to tempt her on purpose.
Anathea glared at him. “You’re shameless.”
Gregory pressed a kiss to her lips with a roguish grin. “I don’t care. Whoever started the fire has to put it out. And mornings are perfect for a little exercise.”
What was supposed to be a peaceful morning turned into chaos thanks to Gregory. By the time they finally stopped, it was already 9:30 am.
“Gregory, are you kidding me?” Anathea snapped, fuming as she stared at the trail of hickeys scattered across her neck like little red stars.
She kicked at him in frustration, only for him to catch her ankle. He stroked his fingers along her skin, clearly not done with her
yet.
Still, he gave her a breather. He didn’t want to wear her out completely. After all, they still had the night ahead of them.
As Gregory buttoned up his shirt, he ruffled her hair and asked gently, “What do you want for breakfast? I’ll cook.”
“I wanna bite you.” Anathea huffed.
His brows lifted at that. “Which part?”
She froze. When the implication sank in, her whole face went red. She shoved her away. “You pervert! That’s not what I meant!”
Gregory knew full well that she was easily embarrassed, but that only made teasing her more fun. He leaned in and whispered,” You can bite me wherever you want.”
“Gregory!” Anathea’s face turned an astonishing shade of red.
Gregory’s smile deepened, but he didn’t push it any further. He had just received a message from Martin.
His smile faded. He glanced at Anathea with a serious expression. I’ve got something I need to take care of. Stay home for now, alright? Don’t go out.”

Anathea froze. The look on his face and his tone reminded her too much of the way he had spoken before he left her last time. The warmth drained from her cheeks. She grabbed his hand and asked anxiously, “You’re not going to tell me what’s going on?”
Gregory froze for a moment. When he met her gaze, he hesitated.

Before he could respond, Adrian’s name lit upon his screen.
“I’m sorry. I have to go,” he said, gently pulling away. “Just trust me, okay?”
Anathea said nothing.
If he couldn’t even be honest with her, how was she supposed to trust him?
She exhaled softly. “Go on.”
Gregory pressed his lips into a thin line. He cast her one last, reluctant glance before turning and walking out.
The door clicked shut behind him. Anathea closed her eyes for a second.
