Anathea frowned and shot Gregory a look. Just as she was about to shake off his hand, Macon walked over.

“That last shot was impressive, Ms. Jacobson,” he said with a war smile.

“It was just luck,” Anathea replied modestly. “I still have a lot to learn. I hope you’ll be patient with me, Mr. Presgrave.”

“They say luck is a kind of strength too,” Dayanna added, stepping forward with a knowing smile. “And at our company, we value partners who bring both skill and good fortune.”

Anathea blinked, feeling slightly surprised. “Does that mean…”

“We’ve already decided to work with you on this project,” Macon said decisively. “We’re counting on you to bring us more surprises.”

“You have my word,” Anathea said with a smile. “We’ll make sure you never regret choosing us.

“Here’s to working well together,” Macon said, holding out his hand for a shake.

Anathea instinctively reached out, but Gregory clasped her hand first. Without missing a beat, he shook Macon’s hand and said, “If any issues come up during the partnership, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’ll personally see to it that everything is resolved.”

Macon glanced at Gregory with a knowing smile. “Mr. Sinclair, are you backing Ms. Jacobson?”

Gregory only smiled silently.

Dayanna noticed their intertwined hands and teased Anathea with a smirk, “Ms. Jacobson, looks like you’re winning at both business and romance. It’s truly enviable!”

Anathea gave a tight smile, attempting to pull her hand back, but Gregory’s grip only tightened.

On the sidelines, Shirley watched as the deal was finalized and slammed her tennis racket hard onto the ground. “Damn it!” she

“Calm down,” Frederick said. “If the Presgraves see you like this, we’ll lose any chance of future cooperation with them. It’s just one project. There’s no need to overreact.”

Shirley shot him an angry look. “One project? That’s easy for you to say! Don’t you get it? If we don’t deliver results soon, Grandpa won’t let us off the hook!”

She had already lost when her engagement plans with Dominic fell through. If she came back empty–handed again, where would that leave her, the proud daughter of the Watson family?

Frederick sighed at her stubbornness but gave in. “So, what do you want to do now?”

Shirley said nothing at first but then glanced at Gregory beside Anathea. Suddenly, she turned to Frederick with urgency in her eyes. “Fred, help me find someone.”

“Who?” Frederick felt a cold knot in his stomach.

“Natalie Whitman,” Shirley replied, smiling darkly.

After the match ended, Anathea headed to the locker room to change out of her tennis clothes.
