When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 925

Orion's expression remained dangerously stoic. "You really need to start worrying about yourself, Mrs. Amelia."

"Haha! If I go to prison, don't think you and your mother will walk free. You were all involved. Let's not forget the Everhart family made a fortune off that renewable energy project."

Amelia smiled with triumphant malice. She had laid down multiple contingency plans years ago.

If the Everharts thought they could wash their hands of this, they were sorely mistaken.

Matthew was absolutely livid, his face flushing crimson with rage. "Bullshit! My mom and my brother would never stoop to your level!"

"Your mother is just a stepmother. If your brother died, the entire Everhart empire would fall into your lap. Are you seriously telling me she wouldn't scheme for your benefit?"

"Shut up."

Orion leveled a predatory glare at Amelia. "Are cheap tricks and manipulation the only tactics you know?"

Amelia shrank back slightly under Orion's terrifying gaze. "I'm just saying, if I'm going down, we're all going down together. Your mother will be rotting in a cell too."

With that final threat, Amelia stormed off.

She desperately needed to formulate a plan.

Watching her leave, Orion's face was a mask of icy fury. "I deeply regret not forcing Mom to cut ties with the Sinclairs sooner."

"It's not your fault, Orion. But you have to believe Mom! She would never do something like that."

Matthew's biggest fear was that his brother might actually believe Amelia's venomous words.

The dynamic between a stepmother and a stepson was notoriously fragile, especially when billions in inheritance were on the line.

Orion patted Matthew's shoulder. "I know the Sinclair family's true nature better than you do. Cheap manipulation is all they have left."

Matthew's eyes immediately welled with tears, and he pulled Orion into a tight hug. "You're my brother. My real brother."

Being young, Matthew hadn't overthought the situation, but his brother's unwavering trust moved him deeply.

Orion shoved him away with a look of mild disgust. "You're an adult. Stop crying like a toddler."

"No! I won't! You're my brother!"

Matthew sniffled, looking entirely pitiful with his red-rimmed eyes.

Orion's face turned serious. "You are to stay by Mom's side during this time. Do not let anyone from the Sinclair family near her."

"Understood. I won't let you down."

Orion nodded, but his mind instantly drifted to Lemira.

The usually composed man suddenly felt his calm shattering.

Matthew asked cautiously. "Orion, what about you and Lemira? Does she know?"

"She doesn't. But she's going to find out today."

But now, pure panic seized Matthew's chest.

Meanwhile, Lemira had arrived at the police station.

Debby walked closely beside her. "Ms. Langston, Hale just turned himself in. The lawyers are already inside. You don't have to worry about a thing."

"I know exactly what to say."

Lemira took a deep breath as she stepped out of the car. She had waited for this day for far too long.

To prepare for the Sinclair family's inevitable counterattacks, she had rigorously rehearsed every possible scenario.

As she exited the vehicle, she spotted the Langstons.

It seemed they had arrived much earlier than she had.

When they locked eyes, the air thickened with tension.

During the Maple Group's product launch yesterday, Lemira and her brothers had viciously schemed against each other over the new tech line.

Naturally, Lemira had emerged victorious.

Asher stared at her with a highly complex expression. He had never imagined that the sister he had constantly dismissed would be the one to unearth the truth behind their parents' murder.
