When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 891

Sophia Sinclair looked up at Orion Everhart, a smug gleam in her eyes.

She finally had leverage against him.

Orion still hadn't dared to tell Lemira Langston that he was also in the car that year. This meant he wasn't as confident as he let on.

Regardless, the evidence from back then was gone, and it was an undeniable fact that the Everhart family had cleaned up the mess for the Sinclair family.

Orion would never be able to wash his hands of it for the rest of his life.

But Orion merely glanced at Lemira beside him. His face was expressionless, yet a tempest of emotions brewed in his eyes.

Lemira took in Sophia's twisted, hateful expression.

She laughed out loud. "Sophia, aside from these cheap tricks to drive a wedge between people, what else are you actually good at?"

Sophia's expression faltered. "What, don't you want to know what this man is hiding from you?"

"No, I don't."

"You're lying. You're dying to know."

Sophia was genuinely taken aback by Lemira's calm demeanor. How could she be so unbothered?

Did she truly not care at all?

Lemira tutted. "I've told you before, even if he did hide something from me, that's between us. Your little attempts to sow discord won't work."

She had fallen for this woman's tricks before; she wasn't about to let this two-faced girl manipulate her relationships so easily again.

Sophia glared at Lemira, then turned a pitiful, wide-eyed gaze toward Orion, hoping to elicit the man's sympathy.

She refused to believe their bond was that impenetrable!

But her face was so swollen from being slapped earlier that her attempt at looking fragile just seemed utterly ridiculous.

Stella Waverly couldn't take it anymore. She pulled a compact mirror from her purse and angled it at Sophia. "Are you seriously trying to play the delicate victim looking like that?"

Upon seeing her own battered, swollen reflection, Sophia shrieked, covered her face, and ran off.

With her gone, the rest of her entourage awkwardly scattered.
