Standing off to the side, Stella watched anxiously, worried that Lemira might take things too far and end up in serious legal trouble.
She dialed Caleb's number. The moment the call connected, she heard the man's deep, emotionless voice.
But wait, why did his voice sound like it was coming from right behind her?
The elevator doors chimed and slid open. Stella turned around to see Orion and Caleb stepping out. She let out a massive sigh of relief. "You're finally here."
Orion immediately locked eyes with Lemira, who was still holding a fistful of Sophia's hair.
Taking in the men groaning on the floor, he instantly deduced what had happened. He walked straight past everyone, gently taking Lemira's hand and prying her fingers out of Sophia's hair.
Since Orion was here, Lemira complied, letting her arm drop.
But Sophia, completely misreading the gesture, assumed Orion was stepping in to protect her.
Tears welling in her eyes, Sophia immediately played the victim. "Orie, you saw it! Lemira just assaulted me in public and beat up my staff! I am absolutely not letting her get away with this!"
Ignoring her completely, Orion gently inspected Lemira's knuckles. "Are you hurt?"
Even though he had personally trained her in combat and her skills had improved drastically, fighting off several grown men by herself was no small feat.
And since she wasn't wearing hand wraps, hitting bone could easily result in a fracture or severe bruising.
Lemira blinked in surprise before shaking her head. "I'm fine."
Was the man blind? Couldn't he see the people actually bleeding on the floor?
Sophia stared at Orion in sheer disbelief. "I'm the one who's hurt! Why are you checking on this bitch?!"
