When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 700

Orion stood there, feeling a long-absent craving for a cigarette.

He turned his head and saw Lemira, and his expression softened.

Lemira met his angry, blazing eyes and slowly walked toward him. "Don't. It's not worth it."

They'll use it against you.

Only then did Orion release his foot. He shouldn't have lost control like that in front of Lemira.

Asher scrambled up from the floor, glaring venomously at Orion. "You are so dead. Absolutely!"

Just then, Mrs. Waverly hurried in, flanked by several people who immediately began confiscating everyone's phones and cameras, including the reporters'.

Mrs. Waverly addressed her men, "Clear the room. And make sure you delete everything from their phones and cameras."

Nothing that happened here today could get out.

Soon, all non-essential personnel were escorted away.

Evelina helped Asher over to Mrs. Waverly. "Mrs. Waverly, you saw what he did to my brother. We have to hold him accountable for this and ruin Maple Group's reputation."

But Mrs. Waverly didn't even glance at them. Her eyes were fixed on Orion. "Was this really necessary? It's just business competition. There was no need for violence."

It was only after seeing Orion resort to violence that Mrs. Waverly realized just how important that girl Lemira was to him.

Orion rolled up his sleeves, revealing his powerful forearms.

His features were stone-cold as he walked right up to Mrs. Waverly, looking down at her. "Your judgment in picking partners is truly terrible. No wonder all your investments have been losing money lately. You've even stooped to selling off Stella and trying to get your hands on your niece's shares."

Mrs. Waverly's face turned ashen. "Mr. Everhart, watch your words."

"You have three days to cut all ties with Asher. Otherwise, I can't say what I might do."

Mrs. Waverly's tone was sharp. "Do you have to be so ruthless? Can't you leave anyone a way out?"

"Move."

Orion's gaze was fixed on Mrs. Waverly, his profile sharp as ice.

Mrs. Waverly gritted her teeth and stepped aside.

In all of Orvin, the only Mr. Everhart who commanded such respect from the mayor was... the one from the Everhart family.

Orion stood his ground, his voice devoid of emotion. "Your organizer, based on a single design patent, tried to kick my company's people out. I wonder how big of a bribe he took to be so bold."

It was obvious Mrs. Waverly had arranged everything in advance.

The organizer's face went white. He quickly explained, "This was all set up by Mrs. Waverly! I was just following Mr. Langston's instructions! I didn't know about the patent issue!"

"Useless fools!"

The mayor berated the organizer, then turned back to Orion respectfully. "I will personally reorganize today's showcase. I guarantee no negative press will get out, you have my word!"

"The Langston family has a history of stealing our company's ideas, and now they've plagiarized our prototype."

Orion looked at Asher. "A trash company like this doesn't deserve to be here."

Asher finally exploded in a fit of rage. "Who the hell are you!"

"He's the Everhart heir!" Mrs. Waverly said, her voice heavy.
