When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 698

Evelina had no intention of letting Lemira see them flustered and giving her an opportunity to make a scene.

Evander understood what she meant. He whispered, "Could I at least sit in a wheelchair for a little while?"

"Evander, you can stand now. What do you need a wheelchair for?"

Evelina took his arm. "Don't let Lemira's words scare you. Our product is the best; there won't be any problems. Let's go."

Lemira watched the sweat bead on Evander's forehead. He was clearly uncomfortable.

It figured. In her past life, Evelina had jealously forced her way into the AI project and participated in the prototype development.

The first prototype back then had also been tested by Evander, and it had been extremely uncomfortable for him.

At the time, Lemira couldn't stand by and suggested they switch to a different prototype.

But Asher had accused her of trying to steal Evelina's credit, and Evander had insisted Evelina's design was fine and that she was the one causing problems.

This time, Lemira decided to just watch and see what happened.

She was curious to see just how much Evander was willing to endure for his "true love," Evelina.

As Evelina and Evander walked over, reporters swarmed them, cameras flashing.

Evelina basked in the attention, her smile elegant and poised.

Now that Dorian had broken up with her and blocked all her contact information, her only chance was with the Langston family.

A reporter asked Evelina, "Ms. Sterling, we hear that Maple Group's lead technician is your sister, yet your two companies are competitors with such similar prototypes. Is there a reason for this?"

Evelina looked heartbroken. "But Lemmy, stolen things will never truly be yours. If you keep this up and things get out of hand, no one will be able to save you."

Asher stepped forward, stopping in front of Lemira. "Eve is right. It's not too late to turn back. I won't press charges for leaking trade secrets."

Lemira looked up, her gaze cold as she stared at Asher. "You two are truly shameless."

"Sigh, Lemira, what have you become? Asher is so disappointed in you."

Asher reached out to pat Lemira's head. "I miss the obedient girl you used to be."

"Don't touch her!"

Orion grabbed Asher's arm forcefully, his eyes like ice. "Get your filthy hands off her!"
