When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 665

This was something Lemira hadn't anticipated.

Even with the help of TG Group's PR team and Orion in the background, she hadn't uncovered much.

Had Asher also discovered that Evelina's father was still alive?

Seeing Lemira's expression change, Asher knew that the car accident that killed their parents was the only thing that could still move his cold-hearted sister.

Lemira couldn't help but press, "What exactly did you find out?"

Asher's lips curled into a cold smirk. "Do you really think I'd tell you now? I thought that with you back in the family, we could be a family. I never expected you to stab me in the back!"

Lemira’s hands slowly clenched into fists. Asher was threatening her.

Nearby, Evelina's face paled, but since it was already swollen and bruised, no one noticed the change in color.

But inwardly, she was panicking. Had Asher really found a clue?

Had PZ Group slipped up, or had the Langstons discovered her father's existence?

Evelina was frantic but didn't dare ask.

Evander, however, heard Asher's words and asked in surprise, "Asher, why are you investigating the accident from all those years ago? Is there something I don't know?"

Asher glanced at Evander. "There may be hidden details about the accident that we overlooked. There was someone else in the car that caused the crash, someone whose presence was deliberately concealed from us all this time."

"So what if there was someone else in the car?"

"We suspect that person was the real driver, and the one who went to prison was just a scapegoat."

After Asher finished, Evander's face changed as well. "Asher, we have to find the real killer. We can't let them get away with it."

Evander roared in fury, "If you hadn't gotten my legs amputated, do you think I would have ended up like this?"

"I had nothing to do with how you ended up."

Lemira stared at Evander. "Didn't Asher admit he pushed all the blame onto me because he didn't want to take responsibility?"

"But if you hadn't gotten Mom and Dad killed, the accident would never have happened, and I wouldn't have been targeted by our enemies!"

Evander glared at Lemira, but he didn't dare make another move. The hand she had struck earlier was already turning blue.

This damn girl was getting harder and harder to deal with.

Evander continued, "But this time, you ruined Asher's plans and brought the investigation to a halt. Isn't that your fault?"

Evelina quickly moved to Evander's side and looked pointedly at Asher. "So, what clues has Asher found? Maybe if we all work together, we can still succeed."
