Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 2238

Nathaniel followed Mavis silently, while she completely ignored him and entered the bedroom. Then, she retrieved the divorce papers from a locked cabinet and found a pen in the bedside drawer.

As she flipped to the last page of the agreement and was about to sign, Nathaniel gripped her hand tightly.

His eyes were red as he asked, "What are you trying to do?"

"Can't you see?"

Nathaniel's mind was buzzing.

She would sign the paper, take Callum, and leave him forever…

Or would she take care of Evan and be with him instead?

His heart ached at the idea of her leaving him. Even when he had been hopelessly in love with Sheena, he had never felt this miserable.

Wronged, frustrated, sad, and heartbroken.

"If I admit that the person who hurt Evan was acting on my orders, will you not sign?"

Mavis was stunned into silence. She noticed that Nathaniel's eyes were not only red but also glistened with tears. In all the time she had known him, he had always been proud and aloof, often domineering and unpredictable in mood.

Yet, she had never seen him lose control to the point of tears.

Nathaniel continued, "I'll apologize to him. I'll cover all his medical expenses and compensation. I'll find the best doctors, the best hospitals, the best care for him worldwide…"

"Enough," Mavis interrupted, her own heart aching and eyes reddening. "What's done is done, and you've already hurt him. You're too cruel…" She could not continue, shaking her head in self-denial. "I'm sorry."

Mavis quickly pulled the pen from his hand.

The pen tip touched the paper, hovering over the line for her signature. The soft scratching sound against the paper was terrifyingly loud in the silence.

Mavis had barely written one letter when a hand suddenly reached out again. It gripped her hand this time, and the pen suddenly became a terrifying weapon.

Nathaniel's eyes narrowed, the corners red with a crazed, obsessive look.

In an instant, the pen pierced through his white shirt, jabbing into his chest.

It happened so fast that by the time Mavis realized what was happening, she was horrified and panicked as she stared at the blood stain on her fingertips.

"Nathaniel! Have you lost your mind?"
