Wait, She’s a Billionaire (Sheena Lawson) novel Chapter 2116

Mavis put on her slippers and quietly left the bedroom.

With a soft click, the door opened.

The figure standing before her was tall, drenched from head to toe.

Nathaniel's short hair was soaked and clumped together in wet strands, with water dripping from the tips.

His chiseled face was also wet with rain, droplets tracing his jaw before slipping down his throat and disappearing into his chest.

Even his white silk shirt was soaked through, clinging to his defined muscles.

Mavis would never have expected that it was Nathaniel knocking on her door, let alone him looking so effortlessly seductive.

Was he doing this on purpose?

Mavis awkwardly looked away.

"It's 3.30 a.m. What are you doing here?"

Nathaniel wiped the water from his jaw and chuckled.

"The moment you show up, Callum starts acting like he's lost his mind, even following you in the middle of the night just to be with you. What do you think brought me here?"

Mavis did not appreciate his sarcastic tone.

He was tolerable when silent, but the moment he spoke, he knew just how to push her buttons and get under her skin.

"So, you ran through the rain just to come and accuse me?"

Nathaniel arched an eyebrow, choosing not to answer.

His silence was all the confirmation she needed.

Anger flared within Mavis, and she said, "Let's get something straight. I didn't take Callum here. He came on his own. The fact that you couldn't even keep an eye on him shows just how little you care. And yet you have the nerve to come here and question me?"

He scoffed, shooting back, "Coming from the mother who disappeared for five years without a word, I don't think you're in any position to judge how I treat Callum."

Mavis glared at him, genuinely irritated.

She could not believe his audacity.

All these years abroad, Evan and Sheena were her only support as she built her career from scratch.

When things were at their worst, with employees quitting left and right, Evan stood by her. At worst, the company would go bankrupt, and they would just work for a few more years before starting again.

They had weathered the storm together, and there was no way she could just abandon him when things were going well with the company.

"Not willing? That man must be pretty important to you."

Nathaniel's eyes darkened, and he moved to push past her into the apartment.

"Well, there's nothing to discuss. I'm taking Callum home now."

"Wait!"

Mavis quickly blocked the door, refusing to let him in.

His lips curled into a barely noticeable smile. "So, have you made up your mind? What's it going to be—Callum or your boyfriend?"
